This product is intended to locate breaks within an in-ground fence system, and provides the necessary tools to repair the in-ground fence system.

Me again - are these easy to install and how deep does the wire need to be?

The Wire Break Locator is extremely to install. You will only need to use the wire break locator when there is a wire break indication on the current fence transmitter. The wire does not need to be buried when using this. The wire is to go through the small holes in the grounding stakes and twisted.

An this be used to find in tact wire for flag placement? Rather than finding a wire break?

The wire break transmitter sends two unique tones down each side of your dog fence boundary wire. The green light indicates a continuous tone and the red light indicates an intermittent tone. With the hand-held locator, you not only hear each tone sent by the wire break transmitter, but the red and green lights on the locator allow you to see which tone is being received. Wire Break Locator is not designed to detect partial breaks.

Our pet fence system had been in for 16 years with no issues, until recently. Checked all connections/joins with no luck and faced trying to find the break(s) in almost 2000 feet of wire. Decided to bite the bullet and try the break locator. Within 15 minutes we found a break. Walked the fence the other way (different tone/indicator color) and made it back to the same spot, indicating only the one break. Made the repair and pup was not too happy to hear the beeping again, but we were! Definitely worth the purchase to us!

I was skeptical of whether this would work but it exceeded my expectations. I live on a 9 acre property and didn’t know where to start looking for a break. This thing was so easy to setup and use. Setup took 20 min and finding the break took 15 min. The sounds and colors make it easy to tell where the break is. I am so impressed with this thing I wish all my tools worked this good. I can’t imagine how I would have found the break otherwise. I felt somewhat hopeless after putting in the work to install the fence around my yard and have it not working. I didn’t know where to start. Thankfully I stumbled on this! Thank you petsafe!

Once I had this Break Locator installed and active IT ONLY TOOK 10 MINUTES to find the break!!! Why was I such a cheap-skate before; well worth the money.
