If the electric goes out is there still water available for the cat to drink in the bowl?

Whatever amount of water is left in the bowl will be left for the pet if the power goes out. The fountain will just stop running if the power goes out, and the fountain will basically turn into a regular water bowl. However, if you have the tray on the fountain, the pet might not be able to get to the water underneath it. The tray covering the water, if you are afraid that the power will go out while you are gone, you can just remove the tray before you leave

The fountain will still function without the lid on the spout, however, it is recommended to use it to help keep debris out.

If desired, you can set the status light to glow blue whenever the fountain is powered on. To turn the status light on, press and release the status light/ button. The status light will flash blue one time to confirm it is turned on. To turn the status light off again, press and release the status light/button. The status light will flash blue one time to confirm it is turned off.

He's drinking again!

It's true what they say about fresh water for cats. I'd put a bowl of fresh water out twice a day, and all Max would do was give me an eye roll, flip his tail ..

It's true what they say about fresh water for cats. I'd put a bowl of fresh water out twice a day, and all Max would do was give me an eye roll, flip his tail ... and march directly to the bathroom for some fresh toilet water. Ugh! After presenting him with this wonderful little fountain, he just can't seem to get enough. He loves to watch the trickle effect: as if he's hypnotized. He does not however drink while the fountain is running -- to him it's just a party trick. But, once I turn the water pump off, he'll drink to his heart's content. I'm very happy! I'll let the pump run for a few hours, for Max's entertainment, and to refresh the water in the bowl. Then, I'll leave it off for a few hours; and turn it on later in the day or evening. He's no longer running for the "fresh" toilet water. He's just so happy with his new found "toy" and water source. Highly recommend!

My cats loved the running water in the fountain; however it only worked for a little over a month - suddenly the water flow stopped, I took it apart and cleaned

My cats loved the running water in the fountain; however it only worked for a little over a month - suddenly the water flow stopped, I took it apart and cleaned it (even though it didn’t need it) in hopes that was the problem. The power light wouldn’t come on either. I moved it to another outlet - still nothing. Maybe I got a dud but I wouldn’t recommend this item - and it wasn’t cheap either!

Loud but easy to clean

Previously had a bubbler-type fountain but couldn’t find filters so bought this one. I love that there’s no pump, and there’s a light indicator to add water. But

Previously had a bubbler-type fountain but couldn’t find filters so bought this one. I love that there’s no pump, and there’s a light indicator to add water. But the fountain is quite loud (open concept home, could hear it throughout) and one of our cats was scared of it even after a few weeks.

such a great idea - but it’s SO loud and there’s no way to regulate the flow to quiet it. both my cats are far too afraid to even approach it, even when the pump isn’t on since it was so loud to begin with. there’s a shallow reservoir that will hold very little water if the power goes out, but the cats can’t really see/understand bc it’s so clear and there’s so much condensate underneath. it also still has a lot of parts, you can’t wash them in the dishwasher of course, and it’s all still plastic - with angles that can hide algae/mold over time if your vision isn’t great and you don’t go at it with pipe cleaners-style brushes. disappointing.

We previously had a Pioneer Pet fountain, and got really sick of dealing with the gross, finicky little pump, routing the wires, placing everything “just so” etc. This one is SO EASY. We love the indicator light. Minus one star for the following shortcomings: 1. wish there was a deeper reservoir. 2. When the light turns red, if you add more than 1 cup of water, it leaks all over. 3. The motor did fail within 8 months, but the company sent a new one for free and it was super easy to change out!

My cat made a mess with this but the dogs loved it. Unfortunately the motor stopped working 5 months later. The motor is housed underneath the unit and does not have great ventilation, so I am not sure if it overheated. This has no bearing on the unit no longer working but hard water build up does in the fountain area happen if user lives in a hard water area.

It has never been over filled and I have put several new filters in it. 8 filters to exact. This thing is terrible.

Three cats, third try! The pump fountains are such a mess and never last very long, I was so excited to find a “pump free” fountain and this has exceeded all my expectations! I’ve had it almost a month now and once already I’ve cleaned it and bleached the filter to kill bacteria, now also cleaned again and replaced the filter. With three kitties who all like to play with the water it gets dirty quickly. This one cannot be knocked over and so so easy to keep filled and clean. Works non stop so far, we are all so happy with this machine. This is definitely the one to get!
