Dogs should not wear both collars at the same time, due to both possible interference issues and the weight of the boxes on their neck. The containment collar should be removed while the pet is indoors and placed back on when they go outside.

How heavy is the receiver on the collar?

The receiver collar weighs 1.8 ounces (51 grams).

Can you turn off the static correction but leave the high pitch noise on only?

The collar does not feature an option to turn off the static correction.

What if I need multiple areas? Do I need to buy another kit or just another transmitter?

If you need multiple Pawz Away® Indoor Pet Barriers for multiple areas, you can buy just the transmitter. The Pawz Away® Extra Indoor Pet Barrier Transmitters are available without the collar.

would work on me, but not on my furry dog

I think this is great if there was direct contact with skin - unfortunately my beautiful, furry little beastie was unaware that anything was out of sorts ;) I suspect

I think this is great if there was direct contact with skin - unfortunately my beautiful, furry little beastie was unaware that anything was out of sorts ;) I suspect his will work well for short-haired creatures, because I tried it on my wrist and it seemed very effective.

This is one of multiple that we have bought because they had initially worked well and then they seem to stop working so we rebought it but our dog seems no longer bothered by the shock anymore and she will walk right by it. Wish you could slightly increase the shock strength instead of the distance strength.

I think it is just too big for a cat. The shock and boundary settings do work. I can hear it beep but that does nothing to deter the cat. It shocked me. Fur is a dealbreaker. Waste of money.

This little metal tab (in the photo) just fell out when I thought the batteries needed replacing. Perhaps they did, but now we'll never know. In the other photo I show that the plastic tab that helps keep the batteries attached to the collar is cracking. That's what happened to the last one and it was useless after that. I'm also pretty sure the metal tab ended up breaking in that one too because I noticed a rattle. Ugh.
