The batteries are the 2032 CR2 batteries.

When adding wire, does it have to be in a loop or can it be linear?

For the barrier to work in wired mode, the wire must create a full loop and both wire ends must come back to the barrier transmitter.

Is this system compatible with pet safe in ground transmitter?

This barrier is compatible with the "PetSafe YardMax Rechargeable In-Ground Pet Fence System" and "PetSafe In-Ground Fence System".

If I purchase two of these will each collar work with each barrier stone or do you have to use the wire?

Each collar will work with its own barrier stone up to 16 feet in diameter with no wire.

Rock and collar were cute and comfortable in appearance, but I was not going to keep them just for a decoration. If the product would have worked, I think it could have been very useful to keep my dog away from a certain part of our fence. This item is being returned.

So at first it was great and worked well. I was about 2 weeks in and it would randomly glitch and shock the dog inside the home or in the middle of the yard away from the rock, I also had to replace the batteries in the rock 3 times already (tried Duracell and energizer) now I have rechargeable. I called petsafe and they are willing to swap it out for a new one to see if it is was a failed product. I am waiting for the new item and then will see how it works.
