FAQ
ScoopFree Clumping is compatible with most litter types, including clumping, non-clumping, and crystal litters. However, it works best with clumping litter or ScoopFree Premium Crystal Litter, which provides optimal performance for the automatic raking system.
Yes, the ScoopFree Clumping is designed for both single- and multi-cat households. It features a large litter area to accommodate multiple cats and an automatic raking system that ensures the litter box remains clean and fresh for each cat. Additionally, the rake button manually allows you to initiate a cleaning cycle whenever needed, providing extra convenience for homes with multiple cats.
Yes, ScoopFree Clumping can be used with kittens safely. Until your kitten is 6 months old, leave the litter box unplugged, manually scoop waste and remove the waste trap cover to ensure easy access. This will create a comfortable environment for your kitten.
Unlike competing self-cleaning clumping litter boxes, ScoopFree Clumping requires no assembly and is remarkably easy to clean.

Great when it works! NOT great when it DOESN'T!

Great (when it works). I've had 2 (so far) and both had problems with the rake stopping. Apparently the 2 latches on top of the track don't stay connected. So when this happens, they don't travel along the track and the rake either gets misaligned or just stops. Although, Chewy's referred me to Petsafe who sent a replacement right away, I am now having the same problem with it. Petsafe did say to contact them if it happened again. I guess it's time to call them. It's disappointing because with a few minor adjustments this would be a great unit.

This box was great at first. But then we noticed it starting to not work. My cats would use it and it would blink as if it were going to clean, and it wouldn’t complete the clean. We ended up throwing it out because there were so many things not working effectively for us. It’s a great box. But I should have listened to the reviews. It doesn’t clean the box like it should. You’re still having to deep clean all the gunk off.
At least he'll use it
I really wanted one of the litter boxes that turn to clean, but my cat won't use them. He doesn't like being enclosed and he loves to dig. The box works well, but
I really wanted one of the litter boxes that turn to clean, but my cat won't use them. He doesn't like being enclosed and he loves to dig. The box works well, but is a bit noisy when raking. With only one cat, I dump the bin about once a week and change litter as needed, about every 10 days. This was to replace the same type of litter box.
Everything
Everything I ordered from chewy is awesome more convenient. I don’t have to remember to pick up cat food or cat litter. It’s automatically mailed to me once month

Handy, but fragile?

I like this because it keeps the smells down. You do have to empty it more than once a week, especially in the summer because the wate will mold, and I recommend using a scoop to scrape the bottom of the litterbox about once a week, because the cleaner doesn't quite get all the way down to the bottom, but it's still way nicer than having to scoop a litterbox every day. The drawer is quick and easy to use and I use bin liners so I don't even need to wash it. However, the motor seems a little fragile. Around the 6 month mark it started sounding strained, and just recently the grate got jammed diagonally in the middle if its cycle and won't correct itself, which is very inconvenient.
Self cleaning litter box
I don't know if I there's a bad batch of these that QC missed. I've had two already that only lasted a month. I practice doing maintenance every week on these units
I don't know if I there's a bad batch of these that QC missed. I've had two already that only lasted a month. I practice doing maintenance every week on these units. Never again will I buy another. I didn't buy from chewy. I got the unit from petsafe directly. Anyone thinking about buying one beware.I'm going to go with a different model and see what results I experience. Hopefully better than the last.
This litter box is tough to find litter that works well!
If the litter doesn't clump fast, the rake smashes it into the bottom of the tray and it is very difficult to remove. Also, when it is emptying into the container

It needs further development i feel
Litter doesn't get fully clean. Still was cleaning it manually. Others might be fine with this self cleaning unit. One cat is fascinated with it. We will give it

Good but needs improvement.left
While it cleaned regularly it left too much waste on the first pass then on the way back the grate picked up the waste left and slammed it up against back of box

Don’t waste your money

I have 2 larger cats (Mane Coon). We have another auto litter box that I’d slightly enclosed and it just isn’t large enough for them to turn around comfortably, so we decided to try thins one. Given it a few weeks to work out bugs and for them to get used to it. One cat refuses to use it because it is so loud that it scares her and the other goes over the side to get in and the rake just moves things around and more litter ends up in the trash because it can’t clean all the way to the side. I have yet to see it actually fully clean after any use. It was a total waste of money and I’m not sure we will keep using it.
