When these tray refills are being used with the ScoopFree Original Self-Cleaning Litter Box or ScoopFree Ultra Self-Cleaning Litter Box, the waste will be automatically scooped into the waste trap, and should be cleaned as needed. If the litter trays are being used by themselves as portable, disposable litter boxes, the waste will need to be scooped manually.

Is there an estimate on how long a tray would last per cat?

How long the trays will last is dependent upon your cat and the frequency that they use the litter box.

We were going out of town for a few days and had someone to feed our PAC but hated to ask them to clean the nasty litter box. We had heard about scoop free disposable litter boxes but was a little skeptical. No worries, 3 weeks later still no smell, works just as shown and our PAC adjusted to it immediately from her old litter box. Absolutely no scooping!!! We are amazed at this technology and the freedom it has given us.
