This collar does not have a shock function.

Does the unit have a rechargeable battery? Is the charger included?

This Collar does not use rechargeable batteries. The batteries can last up to 3 months depending on the usage. We currently carry the replacement batteries on our site, called the 'PetSafe 3-Volt RFA-188 Replacement Battery'.

Will this sense whining as well, or only barking?

This collar will only pick up the vibrations and sounds of barking.

Is this collar waterproof or at least water resistant in the event of rain or the like?

This product has been tested submersible up to 5 feet for 30 minutes. Your pet can jump in a pool or get a bath without harming the collar. The microphone on bark control collars may need to dry out for a few minutes after it's been wet.

One- annoying to switch on and off Two- doesn’t remotely stop the dog. Had for about 3 days now and my dog kicks off 10+ rapid fire barks throughout the day still. I think it’s a combination of her fur being silky long it shifts slightly, however still around the throat area. She needs much more than just “vibration” … I’d just recommend the remote shock collars, which I have, but was looking for something to not self click…

Those flowers have gone a long way towards my customer service and or quality concerns

We wanted this one because we only use vibration so wanted a smaller collar that did nort even have static correction. But it does not trigger at all. Returning.

Went as far as putting it on myself to see if it would be triggered by noise and it isn't. Restarted it multiple times and no changes, does the same thing. Really disappointed in this product.

Not sure if it was just a one time thing. Overall great! I can put it on her for 5 minutes and then take it off and she behaves the rest of the evening
