Will this tip over easily if placed on carpet?

For the best performance, the Zoom should be used on a flat, level floor. Carpet may not be the smoothest operation for the toy since it may fall over or not be level. Cats may also claw into carpet attempting to get the laser. It would be best not to use the toy on carpet.

how far out from the base does it shoot the laser? In other words, how big of a space do I need for this toy?

This product can be used in any sized room. The lasers rotate in a 360-degree pattern so the distance varies based on how large the room is.

is it motion detector or just manual?

This toy must be turned on but it is a hands-free operation for independent playtime. To keep your cats from being overstimulated and to preserve battery life, the Zoom Rotating Laser Cat Toy automatically turns itself off after 15 minutes.

Does this laser also come on by itself or does it just turn off automatically?

To turn this toy on, press the On/Off button once and watch the fun begin. The Zoom automatically shuts off after 15 minutes to prevent cats from being over-stimulated and to keep the thrill of the chase fresh.

A Decent Cat Toy Perhaps But a Horrible Dog Toy

When I first saw the laser toy it appeared to be a solid, good quality toy however it was destroyed the very first day I bought it. It doesn’t have the option to

When I first saw the laser toy it appeared to be a solid, good quality toy however it was destroyed the very first day I bought it. It doesn’t have the option to be mounted or placed up on a table or somewhere out of the way (when on a tabletop the lasers hit the walls and not the floors) which leaves it prone to being stomped on and bit. Ours lasted about 20 minutes.

It was quite a bit bigger than I had thought it would be and I wish it was smaller, but not an issue really. I don't like that it is batteries only and doesn't have a way to plug it like many other laser toys do. I should've read the details more closely, but oh well.

Really wanted the Serene Life Octagon laser toy, but it was out of stock so we tried this. Hope they upgrade laser robot to a quieter version.
