Are these digestible?

No, the Dogwood Stick is composed of several polymers (which are plastics) and wood flour and is designed to flake as they are chewed. While not a food item, these flakes are safe if ingested. If your dog begins to chew off larger pieces rather than the flaking that is designed, please take the product away from your dog to avoid choking or ingestion.

Our collies love playing with sticks outside. Always so proud to trot around with a stick while the other chases. And they're fairly aggressive chewers with toys inside. These stick toys seem to really hit the mark. The dogs like them, spending quite a bit of time chewing them. But they seem to be holding up well. Many a "toy for tough chewers" has gone in the trash after they've started ripping off pieces, but these are doing great. There's definitely some give- they don't seem like they'll last quite a long as a nylabone or benebone, but it keeps them more interested than those bones.

My 10 month old puppy is what they would call a "highly aggressive chewer" when it comes to toys, so I thought these would be great for her. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I gave it to her in the afternoon and she chewed on it most of the day. I woke up to her throwing up at 4 am the next morning, and the only thing that came up aside from liquid, was a half-dollar sized chunk of the plastic or whatever it was that came off of one of these. Not only did it barely last a day, but it made my perfectly healthy puppy sick. I'm not one to usually get on and leave bad reviews about anything, but if it can prevent from making any other dogs get sick, I feel it's very important.

Gave her one in the afternoon, the following morning at 4 am I woke up to her throwing up. The only thing that came up aside from a little liquid was a chunk of plastic that came off of this thing. Says safer than real sticks right on the packaging, but I'm going to have to throw a challenge flag on that one. Not one to normally get on and leave bad reviews, but I'm a dog lover first and I can't in good conscience not say anything.

Perfect!

These bones are very good. My dog is obsessed and never gets bored of them. Small pieces tend to come off when he is chewing, especially towards the end of the bone

Not great for heavy chewing

My Labrador is a very heavy chewer. He was very attracted to this bone but I had to take it away because he was breaking off chunks as large as a nickel.

After wrestling many pieces of mulch out of my 14 week old puppy’s mouth for fear he would choke on them, not to mention the countless sticks he has tried to smuggle into the house, I saw these and thought can’t hurt to try. He LOVES these. Both of them. He will sit and quietly gnaw on these for a good 15-20 minutes. Which, for a 14 week old puppy, is no small feat. After several days of gnawing on them, there’s some chew marks on one end but that’s it. They’re still holding up great. I will absolutely be adding these to my autoship.
