Wheat Gluten is added to this recipe with added vitamins & minerals as a source of protein. It is a water-insoluble complex protein that is separated from wheat flours. Gluten is composed mainly of two proteins, gliadin which has elastic properties and glutenin which gives strength.

The vast majority of ingredients used in Purina products made in the U.S. are sourced here in the U.S. Like other food companies, we do source a limited amount of ingredients from other countries. These ingredients are primarily essential nutrients, such as taurine and B vitamins that are not commonly available in the U.S. in the quantities we need and are sourced in China.
