This recipe is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, including the growth of large sized dogs (70 pounds or more as an adult).

What is the sodium content?

1.52 grams=1520 mg which seems excessive when 1000mg (1.0 gram) is actually ten times the amount really needed by pets. No wonder my puppies are excessively thirsty and I can't leave a full bowl of water for them as I should.

Is this ok for large breed puppies?

My puppy loves this!

Highly recommend! We’ve tried the regular Purina Pro chicken kibble, which my puppy couldn’t tolerate because of the chicken, and the Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon

Highly recommend! We’ve tried the regular Purina Pro chicken kibble, which my puppy couldn’t tolerate because of the chicken, and the Sensitive Skin & Stomach Salmon kibble, but ended up having to discontinue that too due to very frequent loose stools. Been on this kibble for a month almost, and my puppy’s stools look pretty healthy and I’ve noticed much less scratching too!

My 6 year old Border Collie had severe gut health issues as a puppy and this food helped regain her health. She went on to graduate to the adult Purina Pro Plan/sensitive stomach dry food, is doing great and when we got our new bc puppy a few month ago, we knew this was the only puppy food we would use! Avoid corn if you want normal stools and a healthier dog. It is well worth it. We love Chewy and now we are even having horse feed delivered as well. Thank you!

After adopting our two puppies we tried a few different puppy foods trying to find one that would work for both. We learned through the process that one couldn't tolerate chicken and had sensitive skin, the other couldn't tolerate fish. We read a lot of ingredient labels! This puppy food was a clear winner not only for their sensitivity issues but they also enjoy their meal times.

Honey is 5 months old, from the day we rescued her, at 3 months old, she had a terrible time with digestive track issues. We purchased top dollar food, were mindful of her diet and nothing worked! Our Vet told us to try this brand and just like that! No more piles of runny and stinky poo poo! We're so happy to see "Lincoln Logs" instead.

my puppy is a shepsky (german shepherd x siberian husky breed) so due to her breed and size, I avoid chicken completely due to allergies. The lamb protein works just fine, however my dog has gas from this food sometimes. I’m not sure if it’s the protein or what. But overall, I will continue to purchase this as my dog grows up.

Smaller pieces, & seems to bother the puppy less than regular pro plan puppy lamb. I personally am not seeing a significant improvement yet but I’m sticking with it for an entire bag or two to verify the food isn’t totally compatible before deciding. It’s the same price as regular pro plan puppy lamb but you get 10lb less food. Just a heads up for those that might not catch that. Overall can tell it’s slightly better quality food and the smaller pieces probably do help digestion. Wish it came in bigger bags.
