Ingredient Information

Feeding Instructions

Support Your Cat’s Digestive Health

Does your cat have a sensitive digestive system? A sensitive stomach and digestive tract may result in poor stool quality, which can be a sign of poor digestion. Royal Canin Digestive Care foods can help your cat get back on track.

Digestive Care

With highly digestible proteins and a blend of prebiotic fibers, Royal Canin Digestive Care cat formulas can help your cat achieve over 95% healthy stool quality in as little as 10 days.

Wet & Dry Options

Try a mixed dry and wet feeding routine. The mechanical tooth-brushing action of crunchy kibble helps reduce tartar formation, while moist wet food supports healthy hydration. Follow feeding guidelines to determine how much to feed your pet.

What is the ash content?

Originally posted and answered on chewy.com
Answer by nicolepNov 30, 2023
Royal Canin does not have ash content measurements for their products. Ash is the overall mineral content of the diet. It gets its name because when you combust a kibble (or cook it at a really high temperature) all the matter except the minerals will burn off and you’re left with a pile of ashes. This thought that a high ash content food contributes to bladder crystals is an outdated one, but still very present in today’s society. We now know that it is certain minerals: phosphorus, magnesium, calcium that contribute to forming these crystals and need to be at optimal levels in the diet to avoid that. If a pet is not a “stone former” then the levels of these minerals will not cause them to do so. However, if they are a “stone former” they will form crystals unless they are put on a therapeutic diet.

Hi. What is the magnesium percentage please?

This recipe contains 0.08% Magnesium on an as fed basis and 0.09% Magnesium on a dry matter basis.

What are the values of phosphorus, sodium, and fat on a dry matter basis?

This recipe has a Phosphorus content of 0.9% as fed and 0.95% on a dry matter basis. It has a Sodium content of 0.5% as fed and 0.52% on a dry matter basis. It has a Fat content of 22% as fed and 23.2% in a dry matter basis.

My kitty was having dry scalp and pulling her hair. I added this and hope she like it because she’s so picky. But after three months of blending it with the one she preferred. I soon took away the one she preferred and she was happy with it. I’ve seen improvements in her hair and skin. I did add in some fish oil on top that she liked also in the two together worked great.

My fur baby Jasper has dandruff. Being a black kitty and having some pretty bad dandruff is not a good combo. To make matters worse he is sooo difficult to brush. He does not like it. I decided to try a new diet to see if it would help. Royal Canin for Hair & Skin certainly made a difference. The dandruff did not go away completely however, it really did get much better! I highly recommend this cat food for dandruff.

Its very expensive to feed 6-7 cats with just this so there is purina one avaliable to them also. Two of my cats have noticeably softer hair after eating it

I was using the Purina Pro Plan for sensitive stomach and hair. I noticed after a while she had really bad dander and flakes. Never noticed it before. I decided to try the Royal Canin. She has been eating it for a month now and her dander is almost gone and her coat is so soft.

I switched my cats to this food and they did not fare well on it. I noticed that there poops seemed to be quite dry in the litter box. One night, around 2:30am, I was woken by one of my cats HOWLING. He was laid out flat on the floor, panting between screams, and in agonizing pain. Trip to the ER and lots of $$$...he was horribly constipated from this food. We stopped this food immediately and everyone seems much happier.

I was using Purina Pro Plan for nearly 10 years. Their formula helped my dogs skin and sensitive stomachs, so I felt it was best to keep the brand for the cat. After sometime, I realized our cat, Jinx, had oily fur and flaky skin. I made the decision to switch her food to Royal Canine after sometime research and reading positive reviews. Within a week I noticed her coat had gotten fluffier, softer and lighter and her flaky skin has nearly diminished. She loves the food too! Switching to Royal Canine for Jinx was the best decision we made!

Despite numerous efforts, my short hair cat ONLY eats dry food and has been on an IAMs hairball/weight-loss formula for years. While healthy overall, she shed a LOT of hair for such a small short haired cat. I bought a bag of this formula and started mixing it in with her usual food 30-50% at first. She accepted it without much fuss. Within 10 days her shedding was less than half it had been and she was starting to get a nice shine to her coat. I will keep her at about 50% of her diet going forward.
