I had been feeding this to my 14 yo dog for about 6 months and he was doing really well on it. The bag I got in early January had a new shaped kibble and different smell. We used it anyway and it had some side effects but within a week it made my dog really sick. Chewy was amazing in getting us a refund. I don’t know if they completely changed the formula but it was not the same product we had been using.

For the longest time, we had the ur dog on a diet of Nutro Dry Dog Food (another awesome brand), but as our dog has aged- he’s gotten pickier and pickier with his food, to the point of having to stand next to him and command him to eat a few a bites. We decided to make the switch to Royal Canin due to their unmatched quality and even our dog has noticed the difference. He’s back to eating normally and even has more energy to get out and play.

I've been feeding my 11-year-old German Shepherd this Royal Canin Maxi Aging 8+ formula for the past two months, and I'm really impressed with the results. The kibble size is perfect for larger dogs - easy for him to chew and digest. I've noticed his coat has become shinier, and he seems to have more energy during our walks. What I appreciate most is how this formula is specifically tailored for aging large breed dogs. The joint support ingredients seem to be helping with his mobility, and his digestion has been excellent. The kibble doesn't crumble or create a lot of dust like some other brands I've tried. My dog actually gets excited at meal time (amazing), which tells me it tastes good to him. At his last vet checkup, the vet commented on how healthy he looks for his age. While it's a bit pricier than generic brands, I feel it's worth the investment for my senior dog's health and quality of life. Would definitely recommend to other owners of aging large breed dogs looking for a quality nutrition option.

We feed intermittently

He likes it! I cook for him but also give this kibble to supplement any nutrients I might be missing in cooked food. Stomach takes it well!

The vet recommended nutrition.

The chage of food didn't matter to my senior dog, but it has made him extremely gassy. It hasn't been a pleasant week and a half, so will try something else.

My dog has severe allergies. He has suffered with skin rashes, sneezes, vomiting, ear infections and itching. We tried different medications and he still suffered. Finally our vet suggested it was the food he was allergic to. This new food has almost completely resolved his allergies symptoms and it’s only been a few weeks!! I’m looking forward to a 100% resolution to his allergy problems.
