This food is complete and balanced for a cat's specific needs. The magnesium levels are appropriate, and Stella & Chewy's add thiamin to combat the thiaminase found in fish. They also work closely with their suppliers who have assured them that there is very little risk for excessive heavy metals in their supply.
What is the difference in the cat and dog ones? Can a dog eat the cats food as well?

Stella & Chewy's dinners for dogs are not harmful to a cat, and vice versa, and you may choose to feed them intermittently if necessary. However, we recommend regular use of the freeze-dried dinners for cats on a full-time basis because they are designed to be complete and balanced for a cat’s nutritional needs. The nutritional needs vary between cats and dogs, so we always suggest feeding the food that is specifically designed for them.
