When it comes to transitioning to any food, a slow transition over 7-10 days is recommended; it is the same case when transitioning to our food too. To start, we recommend mixing the new food in with what you're currently feeding and slowly building up until the new food is the sole food that you're feeding/that your dog is enjoying. Even if your dog isn't eating their current diet, it's important to start off small with new food and introduce it slowly, as sudden changes to diet can cause diges

I read the reviews, but did try to give this to my Pembroke Welsh corgi. It caused diarrhea. I had to purchase his old kibble and mix about 1/4c into 1.25c of the other kibble to avoid the wet, loose poops. My dog liked the kibble, but what came out the other end was not OK. My corgi is 25 lbs and a sensitive stomach - and we really did give it 60 days. He did not adjust and get used to this. Prob for big dogs or dogs who can handle the recipe. Not for small dogs?

My Rottweiler and Border Collie/mix enjoyed this. However the kibble is so tiny, a kitten could eat it without choking. It is the first food my border collie would eat other than Orijens or Farmina, but will be going back to these do to the size of kibble and low fat content. Both run with me at least 3 miles a day.
Not what I expected
This dog food affected my dogs digestive system, she's been sick since starting it. I threw out more than 1/2 a bag

I have three very picky standard poodles who are all over 10yo. They have guts of steel, and are very healthy. I feed unconventionally- free choice feeding, and a different flavor and/or premium brand with every 18-22lb bag. I was impressed by the ingredients in this food and ignored the reviews about diarrhea because I thought it was just other dogs’ sensitivity to new food, because most folks don’t cold change food like I do. But we are not quite 1/2 way through this bag and Pood 1 started having urgent, light colored loose stool, then Pood 2 had four explosive uncontrollable bouts of diarrhea in the house, followed by another day of diarrhea and then Pood 3 had explosive diarrhea, and thankfully made it outside. Pood 3 is 12yo and literally has never had diarrhea in her life. This has all been within a week. I stopped feeding this food and went back to a favorite Acana formula yesterday and everyone seems fine so far. Chewy, please reach out to Stella & Chewys to report all these reviews of their food! Clearly something is wrong with the formula! Will not be feeding this again and am now throwing over 1/2bag of pricy food away because no other dogs I know need to suffer through this!
Dogs live it.
Both my dogs love this food. I make my own food for them but offer kibble too. They both really like this Prairie one.

I loved that it had a variety of natural red meat
But Lou and Cinder just don’t like it, even when I add homemade toppers, like meat rice and vegetables

Sadie loves the food
It’s so convenient. I think it lasts longer than the types of dog food. My beagle enjoys it.

My picky eater loves this food! It’s the first dog food that he actually seems to anticipate meal times and finishes everything in his bowl. I really love the quality ingredients. However, he continues to have terrible gas and occasional diarrhea since we switched to this food over a month ago, which is making it hard to live with him. I was hoping the digestive upset would pass with time but we are going to have to find an alternative
