The smaller slots are approximately 1 inch long. The large slots are approximately 4 inches long. Both are approximately ½ inch wide.

Are the slots in this scoop big enough for pellets (such as pine pellets) to pass through?

Van Ness recommends using clumping cat litter in all of its cat pans and scoops.

The picture looks Lavender or purple .. is this the correct color ?

The Long handle helps me get to the whole litter box, without feeling like I'm IN the litter box. The leverage for getting stuck clumps unstuck is great, too.
