Everything is loose
If you do not want to use the shield there is no way to keep it out of the way. We have a puppy and are not ready to take a big cut. Also the lock is so loose

Would not recommend for giant breeds
I have 2 Great Danes. These clippers were barely sharp enough to make a grove in my dogs nails. Very disappointing.

I have used these clippers a few times now on my 90 Lbs King Shepherd and they work great on his tough and thick nails. The guard stays in place while using and
