How often do you need to replace the blades ?

This will depend on the coat type, condition of coat, and blade maintenance followed. If the pet being clipped has a fine coat type, we would say sharpening or changing the blades approximately every 6 months. If the coat is thick, coarse, or curly, we would say to change or sharpen the blades out about every 3 months.

Can I replace the adjustable blade with a simple size 10

The blades for the Wahl Pro Ion Clipper are adjustable. There are no “fixed” setting blades for this clipper. The blade that comes with this unit adjust from a #10 to a #15 and a #30 length. At this time, replacement blades are available directly through the manufacturer's website.

It is recommended to thoroughly brush and/or comb to remove tangles and mats prior to using this clipper.

They are ok, but if you groom your dog frequently, buying better (pricier,) gripper would take less time and be worth the $'s over time. Must be sure dog is bathed b4 or blades will dull quickly and be sure to oil aft ea groom.
