While I like the ingredients and my dog likes this food, the food doesn't like her tummy. This food gives my dog the worst gas. I mean paint-peeling gas, loud audible gas; the kind of gas that only guys find funny. I transitioned Roxy to this food, and she is used to eating fish and sweet potatoes. In fact, her treats are dehydrated sweet potato slices. She loves fish. All fish. The only fish that has ever given her such violent gas is cod. So, the whitefish in this recipe must be cod. Pollock and haddock have never done this. One good thing about this food is her skin allergies didn't announce themselves and Roxy's little toe-beans didn't inflame. SO, there's that. I gave Roxy a month to adjust to this food, but it's too cold to open the windows now to air the room. So, we're off to find something else without beef, chicken, bison, duck or their by-products, which she's allergic to. Grain-free isn't an option; she already has heart issues and don't need to be exacerbated by fad-diets. I trust Wellness...I wish they'd tell us exactly what "whitefish" they are using. Had I known it was cod, I'd have chosen something else.

I'm very satisfied with the Wellness brand and report good results from switching my dog from this recipe to a chicken and oatmeal recipe. But the whitefish chow.... that poor boy vomited several times over a couple of weeks after getting the most recent bag of this formula. I don't know if it's recipe quality control, or just my dog's stomach, but I consider any chow that causes vomiting even a couple weeks into a bag - not a good product or not good manufacturing quality control.

It smells terrible, and apparently, it tastes as bad as it smells. Cooper is NOT a picky eater by any stretch of the imagination. He would eat cardboard if it had chicken broth on it, but he wouldn’t touch this. We tried mixing in ground turkey, but he just picked it out and left the kibble. We tried putting chicken broth on it. Nope. This is the only food he’s ever refused.

This dogfood is loved by both of my dogs. One of which is super picky. He eagerly eats this and both dogs condition improved when switching. My senior girl does amazingly on this food. I tried a different food for a while to try and save money, but she went downhill fast. Within a couple weeks of going back to Wellness Whitefish and Sweet potato she started looking and acting like a puppy again at nearly 9 years old. We will be sticking with this brand for my animals.

My dog has several food allergies. This food is as one of the foods she could eat until they decided to change ingredients without notice. My pup got really sick as a result. Always check ingredients on every bag, companies don’t always tell you when they create new formulas. Lesson learned!

This may be on the expensive side but so well worth it. I spent months searching for a food that my pug did not have a allergic reaction to. This was the only one! He had massive skin allergies, missing hair red, red skin it was so horrible. Now he's a feisty 5 year old acting like he's one again. He has been on this for four years now and instead of feeding all our dog something different we have all of them on this, all are pure breed. BOXER, PUG AND BOSTON.

We switched Bo off of a chicken-based food because he seemed to show a real affinity for fish, especially tuna. He loves this new whitefish food, and gobbles it up voraciously. The 15 lb. size stays fresh ‘til it’s gone.
