Too hard
I was looking for a dental chew that contained low amounts of protein so I bought these for my senior dog. But these were way too hard for him to chew, especially
I was looking for a dental chew that contained low amounts of protein so I bought these for my senior dog. But these were way too hard for him to chew, especially since he doesn't have many teeth left. These also changed the texture of his stool, so I've stopped feeding these to him. They're not as easy to break as Greenies, but unfortunately those have too much protein for my dog.
Will not give these to my dog in the future
My dog cannot tolerate these. She ended up throwing up the red one after chewing it & then proceeded to have diarrhea/vomiting for 4 days - couldn’t even keep down

We took her to the emergency vet for a very expensive visit & was told her intestines were inflamed. Needless to say, we will be throwing these out.
She loves them

Didn’t digest in his stomach

No green treats
The last two times I have purchased these there were no green chewies in the assortment. The green ones are my dog's favorite so he is probably a little dissasisfied

Size, texture, long lasting
The size & texture is just right for my 13 1/2 lb terrier mix. He doesn't try to swallow pieces before chewed properly, which is not only safe, but reaps the benefits

This first time I gave him one, he went all over trying to find a place to bury such a worthy treat. He will still do this on occasion, as he does with very high value treats (like pizza crust). But in the end he succumbs to their delectability.
A good dental chew for capable chewers
I bought these only once because I didn't realize they take significant chewing capability. They would have been great when my senior dogs were earlier in the golden

Always remember to keep an eye on pets when they have an extended attention treat/chew because choking is a real hazard. I was so glad I'd learned the heimlich maneuver for dogs and that my dog was a mini doxie so it wasn't hard for me even as an elderly person myself to pick my dog up and use the maneuver to dislodge the chew when he had begun to choke on it. We gave the rest of the bag to a friend with a much younger dog who still had all of her teeth and was capable of safely enjoying a chew of this type.

We always buy the gator-shaped Whimzees as we’re from Florida, but Bandit doesn’t care - he likes these knot-shaped chews just as well.
