The Zesty Paws Wild Alaskan Omega-3 Salmon Oil does not need to be refrigerated after opening. It is recommended to store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and keep the cap tightly closed to maintain freshness and quality. If preferred, refrigeration is safe and can help extend freshness, but it isn’t required.

Is there a difference in the effectiveness between the oil or the bites?

Both options offer similar benefits. The salmon oil is a concentrated topper added to food, and the bites provide Omega-3s in a chewable treat form. Both are effective, and the choice depends on the pet's preference.

I reordered my regular bottle thinking everything was the same with the autoship. The header and description hasn’t changed on the page indicating that this is no longer salmon, but pollock + salmon. I was shocked when I got the box and opened it, went back to the order history and noticed the image changed but not the page info. Pollock being the first ingredient on the back of the label indicates there is more pollock oil than salmon oil. My dog is sick. The vet recommended this brand of SALMON oil two years ago. He gets it daily and I would be more obliged to pay for the increase in price to maintain the quality of what he receives in each meal. I will have to look for another option to get him higher quality omega 3s.

Luna had what I thought was dandruff. I asked the vet what I could do about it. Vet said it was dry skin and fish oil would help it. I purchased the Zesty Paws Wild Alaskan Omega-3 Salmon Oil. My cats are free to eat whenever they want. I put 2 big tablespoons of the oil into about 4 cups of dry food and mix it up until all the food is coated. I do this for 2 bowls of food. After using a full bottle of the oil I noticed that Luna isn't dandruffy anymore and her sister and brothers have shiny, softer, fur. Also, they aren't shedding as much. I couldn't be happier with Zesty Paws.

I have ferrets, dogs and cats, and they all get this as a supplement and their coats and health reap the benefits of this salmon oil. They all will eat it straight out of the bottle, but I add it with their treats, or the ferrets daily chicken. It does help with your ferrets having dry skin and them scratching like crazy. Use this and a humidifier and you will see a world of difference.

I’ve been giving this oil to my cat since October and I’ve seen major results. My cat is prone to allergies/ itchy skin and adding this oil to her food once a day has dramatically changed her itchy skin, coat, and frequency of hairballs. She is also incredibly picky and has refused other oils in the past but she loves the taste of this one!

Our 14 yo shih tzu is a picky eater and when we had to change her diet to be kidney friendly, she didn't want to eat at all. The CSR at Chewy recommended adding some salmon oil to her food so we decided to give it a try. Wow! She now gobbles her kidney food and wants more! So greatful we gave the salmon oil a try. So many benefits to this oil as well.

Unfortunately, my cats would not eat even a few drops of this Salmon oil. I assumed they would love it and had bought the biggest bottle. I would suggest getting the smallest bottle for your pet to try to be sure they will eat it. I 'gifted' the bottle to a neighbor with dogs in hopes they could use it, and the dogs love it. I'm curious to know how many cats compared to dogs will take this product easily.

Confusing instructions, poorly designed bottle

Product arrived with a pop-top on the bottle and an optional pump top packaged inside the shrink-wrap alongside the bottle. I looked forward to using the pump top to minimize mess. I discovered after I put the pump top on the bottle that it doesn't depress. I removed it, oil that was now in the tube dripped on the bottle as I took it out, and I threw the pump top in the garbage. The "Recommended Dosage" on Chewy's website is incorrect. The correct dosages are in the chart below the "Recommended Dosage" and are printed on the bottle. I'll see how my fur-baby does with this oil before deciding whether or not I'll buy it again or recommend it. I mix my pup's kibble with bone broth and a home-made topper, like turkey and vegetables. I keep the broth and toppers in the fridge and then heat them in the microwave before mixing it with my fur-baby's kibble. I'm not crazy about having to pour refrigerated oil on his warm food.
