    Won't you ring my bell?

    I have never used bells before when I have worked on house training my dogs. This was suggested to me by a rescue and I thought-why not give it a try. I'm so glad I did. My puppy has learned to use these pretty reliably (he's only 14 weeks and I've only had him for < 1 week. I put them on the door we use to go out side and tell him, "tell me out, "he uses his paw (sometimes his teeth) and rings the bells! Also, he has initiated using them a couple of times. I wish I had done this with previous dogs too. … more

    it works but...

    My puppy is starting to get the hang of the bells after almost two weeks and shes started the habit of scratching and jumping on the door... my friend also tried the bells when there dog was a pup and he is also very bad about scratching jumping and sometimes even opening a door. might just be a coincidence My puppy is starting to get the hang of the bells after almost two weeks and shes started the habit of scratching and jumping on the door... my friend also tried the bells when there dog was a pup and he is also very bad about scratching jumping and sometimes even opening a door. might just be a coincidence, maybe not. i think the bells encourage this behavior … more
