To select the most accurate size calming collar for your pet, measure the center of their neck with a cloth tape measure, a few inches down from their head. Pull the cloth tape measure snug, but not tight. If you don't have a cloth tape measure, you can use a piece of string and measure it with a rigid ruler afterwards. Make sure there’s enough room for about two fingers between the collar and your pet’s neck for comfort.
Wow! This collar is amazing. I inherited a munchkin cat that had been living in a garage for his whole life of 2 years. After 7 days of him hiding and only coming out at night. The collar worked within seconds. We put it on him, gave him a second and then was able to give him his first pets since coming to live with us. He was embracing our love and even asking for more. He now is walking around the house in the DAY time. This is the best thing ever! He was brave enough to approach our dog and snif him. The collar has only been on the cat for about 2 minutes however the clasp seems to be very secure I dont think it will come off.
Please please do not buy this product. My kitten has been driving me nuts with his crying so I thought this might help him calm down. This claims to be a "break away" collar but it is not. I found my kitten with his mouth pried open due to this being stuck in his mouth. I will absolutely never ever buy this product again. I recommend the plug ins.
I have one young cat that IS aggressive which gets her in trouble with the older cat. The calming collar helps to cut down on the skirmishes that erupt daily.
I have a cat that attacks another cat in the house. This collar didn't seem to make a difference. I was hopeful it would.
My cat Beverly has aggression issues, treated with a compounded Rx that I place inside her ear each morning. She can't have catnip; her vet diagnosed her as a "mean drunk" - it only makes her more aggressive, of course. After having arrived at these solutions, in part with a calming collar, I have learned a bit about these collars! This collar works as well or better than others we've tried. It's MUCH easier to put on also!
This collar is amazing. As soon as I put it on Sofia, she started rubbing her cheek on everything. She was so happy she was drooling. Her fellow cat mates can't get enough of the smell themselves. I had to put the left over lining piece on Jessie`s tag ring. Beth Anne is rubbing her body everywhere Sofia has been rubbing. I might be strange, but I love the smell. It reminds me of the smell of a tea bag box with Chamomile and peppermint you open. You get that waft of tea smell. Yummy. Jessie kept bothering me while I was prepping it for Sofia. Sofia has this collar due to her feeling the need to tell the boys, Jessie and Maxwell, she can walk anywhere and any time she wants to and they have to leave the premises. She is the queen. This is part of her personality, however this is a sign of stress and despite run of the house all day and night, numerous litter boxes, and multiple access points to various heights in the house, she needed an aid to calm down. Stress lowers the immune system and no immune system means getting sick. Thankfully, she hasn't gotten sick, but less stress is better. My story is a success story. Each cat has preferences though (so do their humans). It is absolutely worth a try, however if you don't like the smell of a tea box everytime you snuggle or pet your cat, I would try other brands first.
This item is huge and the smell is extremely unpleasant . My cat is constantly trying to get it off his collar and a couple times was able to get collar off that I bought from here .I have no idea how he got it off but he did he hates it otherwise he has calmed down a little bit .This item works I will order again and be ready for the SMELL.
we have two cats & they don't get along. out vet suggested trying the collar on the male, as he is very aggressive toward the female. it does make some difference in him, so we continue using one on him.
We've used pretty much all the brand's of stress collars and this one smells awful IMO.... more like eucalyptus potpourri. Our 3 cats all reacted to it (we have 3 but only 1 uses/needs the collar), like a catnip, playful response. I can't wait for the smell to weaken a bit so I don't have to plug my nose around him!
I am not thrilled with the scent, Instead of a nice mint scent it has more of a grassy scent. I will go back to the Sentry Calming Collar.
