Feed Pregnant Dogs up to 50% more during the last 3 weeks of pregnancy. During Lactation and Puppies up to 6 months old, require twice the amount of food as an Adult dog and they should be fed 3 - 4 times a day. Puppies, 6 months to a year, twice daily. Senior and Overweight Dogs may be fed a reduced amount, depending on the dog's weight and activity level. The above Daily Feeding Guidelines are a good starting point on the amount of food suggested to be fed on a daily basis. If you feed more than once per day, simply divide the Daily Feeding Guidelines by the amount of times fed per day. Fresh water should be available at all times.
We have found that the smoothest transition from one dog food to another is to mix the foods together. When changing to CANIDAE some dogs may do better by making a gradual transition over 7 - 10 days. Start with 25% of the new food mixed with 75% of the previous diet and gradually increase the new while decreasing the previous until the transition is complete

Feeding four dogs, of all sizes and ages
By Connor on Dec 4, 2019
We've been feeding this to our four dogs for a couple years now and we have not had any food-related issues since switching from Nutro lamb and rice. Dogs in our pack: 13 year old lab/hound (~65 lbs), 10 year old Greyhound (~65 lbs), 6 year old black mouth cur (35 lbs), and 3 year old Jack Russell/blue heeler (25 lbs). The older dogs also get a daily joint supplement in addition to this food. They still like this food and will eat it dry with nothing added. I usually sprinkle a little water on it so they stay hydrated. Their coats are nice and soft and shiny and they seem to have a good amount of energy for their age. Poops are nice and firm as well. I worked in the pet retail industry for a couple years and I did a lot of research before switching to Canidae. I have no regrets whatsoever. Overall, I consider this to be one of the best brands for the money. I recommend Canidae to all my friends and family looking for a premium pet food at a decent price. … more

Exceptional
By BigSexy on Oct 23, 2019
My girl BigSexy an 8yr old Bourdeaux was throwing up after eating, even after drinking water and her hair was falling out. I switched from a very expensive food, "which I Loved" and the vomiting stopped and hairloss decreased significantly. (I did add pumpkin to all her food, before & after switching) In the end she had Cancer and we where unaware of it. I'm so glad I switched to this food! She was active and happy right up to her unexpected last day. We got another 4mo with her, which I believe we would have never had if she could not have eaten. I have a new 13wk Bourdeaux n a 13yr old Pom, everybody eats this food. It's great!

My vet recommended this product
By JEF1 on Nov 30, 2019
It was suggested that I switch brands to help with my German Shepard’s itching issues. I also heard grain free was not the best and wanted some good grain in her food. She is a picky eater but will finish her whole bowl.

My Dog's New Favorite Food
By Michelle on Oct 11, 2019
We recently had to switch my dog's food due to her former brand being on the list of foods that allegedly cause heart issues. She's always had stomach issues, so I tried to find a brand rated high on the "sensitive tummy" scale. Ever since we started feeding her Canidae, she's not had any stomachaches and readily chows down almost as soon as the food is in her bowl (she used to let the food sit in her bowl for hours before she'd eat). Definitely highly recommend this brand!

Definitely would recommend for Seniors
By Robin on Oct 19, 2019
My two girls are 9 years old and I’m always looking for a good senior food and I think I found it! It has the supplements for hips and joints plus great nutrition. Pacha and Ibiza were getting a high quality food before but Ibiza was getting tear stains so I tried Canidae and “poof” gone! They are happy and super active little cattle dog mixes!

Great food
By 2DOGS on Sep 27, 2019
I recently switched from Nutrish Grain Free to Candae because my pups were not thriving and I was concerned that grain free did not provide all the nutrition they needed. Recent reports of cardiac problems with grain free food raised my concerns even further. My pups adjusted well to the gradual switch, they have more energy and seem to like the new food. My 3 year old labradoodle who has been too thin even put on a little weight and seems much more healthy. So all in all, I am very pleased with Canidae.

They all LOVED it!
By nope on Sep 17, 2019
I have 4 dogs of varying ages and sizes (8pounds-140pounds). Finding them a food that was high quality and that they all enjoyed was a struggle. Up until this bag showed up they would all pick at their bowls all day long. Since starting this they are now gobbling it up and trying to pick around their Purina Pro Plan Savor. So glad I bought them this! Will definitely be making a permanent switch!!

Great food, too expensive
By Joann on Sep 25, 2019
My lab mix has been on this food for 8 years now. When the manufacturer raises the prices, I have tried a different brand. I can see the difference in my dog's energy and coat. Wish it was not so expensive, but I do pay it. Dog seems to like the food and she is healthy, so I buy it. Manufacturer has no qualms about huge price increases - 30% at one time. This seems irresponsible.

Even my little one likes it!
By JANICE on Nov 13, 2019
I have purchased this food for my three dogs, my little one won't eat dry food only wet food. She loved it and ate a entire bowl, i'm so happy that i don't have to buy three different foods.
