Great item
My dog was not eating her other kibbles. She would go smell it and walk away. I bought her this one since I noticed all the great items in it. I do want to note one thing. It is a harder kibble. So the dog needs to really use their teeth to break it up. So if your dog tends to have bad teeth or not strong enough due to age. My dog even swallows a few of them. But all good. She enjoys it and eats and that is what matters.
Great food
Like most, we've cycled through a variety of higher-end dog food in the quest to find a quality product our two beasts will eat. One of the freeloaders will eat anything, the other is quite picky. On top of that is the changing recipes that have occurred with some of the major brands. This product is not cheap but know that you're getting a better quality for your money than with some of the cheaper brands. We saved a few bucks with a three month trial using a less expensive premium food but both dogs showed a loss of coat quality, stools were not as firm, and "Mr. I'll eat anything" started to develop an allergy (excessively licking his feet). All resolved when we switched back to Canidae. This recipe has fewer fillers and better quality primary ingredients. Moreover, you just can't argue with the results.
Second Fiddle
It's not my dog's primary food; that, I scratch-make every morning... but as an omega-source, and when he's peckish, it's always out.
Dog didn’t like it
My dog started getting gassy once we switched him to this food for a couple of days, and once I started doing half of this and half of his other food, he stopped eating well and would try to pick around it. I had to switch back to his original food. Also, the kibbles are a lot smaller than they look in the picture
Best Customer Service
Lost my best friend Almond beagle in February, and discontinued my order with Chewy. Since then, I have adopted another beautiful doggie Shadow! I just need a dog in my life. The sales person I spoke with, was so friendly and compassionate, and even gave me a break on a discount for the first order she also sent me a personal card for condolences on losing my beagle Alvin! I have never experienced superb customer service like that and she definitely deserves some kudos for it. Thank you for hiring awesome people for your company. I love Chewy.

Had trouble getting the dog to eat all her food until I switched to this! She loves it and licks her bowl clean.

Beagles hate it
My two beagles eat literally everything, but when i switched to this food my girl started getting sick, and my boy stopped eating it all together. I thought this was a better brand over Hills Science, but I'll be switching them back to their normal food again. I have over half a bag left, waste of money.
Disappointed with Chewy!
I gave one star because there is nothing lower. I previously used Canidae Pure Goodness Real Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe in 2019. My dog had no allergies and people stopped in public to ask what I put on his coat. It was beautiful! Then, the recipe changed. It made him sick and he started having issues with skin, coat and digestion. I am still trying to find a brand that works like it DID. I am disappointed with Chewy as much as the producers of Canidae, as they did not warn us. Seems to me that Chewy could encourage the company to go back to the original recipe. If anyone else agrees, please, let Chewy know.
Harley would have eaten through the box!
this food was delivered and even with a bowel full of food he wouldn’t leave the box alone until I opened the box and the bag and add this to his bowl. He LOVES IT! It smells horrible!! But my big boy doesn’t care he even picks the pieces of his old food out so he can enjoy the Salmon and Sweet potatoes. Still waiting to see how his tummy handles it but a noticeable loss in gas for sure so far! Definitely happy with the product so far!
