Amount of food your dog requires will depend on activity, age, environment, and breed. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion. always provide access to clean fresh water. Adult: feed 3 - 4 bowls per 10 lbs of body weight per day. Puppy: feed up to twice the Adult amount to puppies.
CANIDAE® Grain Free PURE dog food formulas contain more meat and less carbohydrates than most other brands. While a higher meat to carbohydrate ratio provides a healthier diet, those pets who are used to eating a different diet will transition easier if the old food and new food are mixed together at varying ratios for a short time. We recommend a 7 day transition period to smoothly make the switch as gentle as possible on your pet’s digestive system. You can increase the transition time if your dog is particularly sensitive to menu changes.
Days 1 & 2: 25% CANIDAE®, 75% Previous Brand Days 3 & 4: 50% CANIDAE®, 50% Previous Brand Days 5 & 6: 75% CANIDAE®, 25% Previous Brand Days 7 & on: 100% CANIDAE®
When transitioning slowly is not possible, feed smaller portions more regularly. We suggest breaking up the daily intake to 3 to 4 feedings per day. Adding warm water to the food will also decrease the chance of your pet eating too quickly and not chewing thoroughly. Gulping a highly palatable product could cause vomiting. If at any time during the transition, your pet experiences gastro-intestinal upset, keep the ratio of new to old food the same for several days. This will allow time to adjust to the new ratio before you incorporate more of the new food. In the event you are not transitioning with your old food, withhold food for 1 day and then start re-introducing 3 to 4 feedings per day mixed with warm water. All other treats and supplements should be withheld until fully transitioned. You may notice a change in the appearance of your pet’s stool even after the transition period. This can often be a result of a change in the amount of fiber and protein in the new diet and is normal.

By DKMH on Jul 8, 2020
My Yorkie loves this food! You actually see real bits of the veggies and small bite sizes are perfect for small dogs. She licks the bowl clean, which I haven't seen since making her dog food at home.

Dog will not eat
By birdfood on Jul 7, 2019
I have an aging dog that need medication in her food. With minced or morsels, she always finds the pill and spits it out and then stops eating. I would not recommend this style of food. I have sent 2 emails to chewy about this with no response so I am writing a review.

Still searching for "Go To" food for Zeus
By Kookoo on May 21, 2019
I tried this food because everything that I read about Canidae products sounded good. I didn't realize that I had bought the cacciatore style meals, but this food does not work for my puppy. I always seem to go towards the high end products but this is not working. My vet suggested that I try Pedigree ground dinners and I am finding that Zeus likes it and it is easier on the the wallet. The old saying that "You get what you pay for" ... It isn't always necessarily true.
