Pure food not for us
I purchased this for the ratings and the ingredients. Unfortunately my puppy is not a fan, she won't have more than a couple of bites. I now have to run out and pick up what she was previously eating. I was hoping for a better outcome.
CANIDAE IS SOLID
As a long time customer and pet owner I have a great deal of confidence in this brand. They have many choices to select from and an exemplary record of high quality.
dusty food
My dog loves this food, but most the bags come riddled with “dust” or crushed kibble. I have to sift through it and just in one cup a ton comes out. Hopefully they fix this soon or I’ll have to switch foods
great for digestive issues!
our Dobie puppy was having very loose stools with a major brand dogfood. after researching, I decided to give Canidae a try....wow, what a difference! stools are nice and firm. added benefit: she doesn't eat as much, so Canidae is filling her up with good protein and veggies that stick with her. Her coat is beautiful also. Very pleased with Canidae. now have it on Autoship with Chewy!
Lots of “dust”
We’ve been using Canidae for years and the last few bags of the puppy food were full of “dog food dust.” It was so bad at the bottom of the bag that we had to use a colander to sift it out. Still, though, Rugers coat is super shiny, and he’s been growing like a weed.

Just so you are aware, my food price has gone up since I started ordering with Chewy. Now it is cheaper for me to buy locally…
Good food, bad product.
Ordered a large bag and the canned food to match, since I have been looking more towards less chemicals in my puppy food and more natural/organic products, for better health, growth, learning. The food I bought at the pet store, my dog loved. This bag, larger and more expensive, was mostly the dust you find at the bottom of the bag. There were no real “kibbles”, and after a week, my puppy did not want it anymore. I will be switching back to the breeder recommended food as soon as I can.
Excellent dry dog food
I purchased this brand to mix in with puppy Sports Mix dry food to give the right mixer and balance of multiple healthy ingredients for my puppy and older dog. My older dog never eats dry food and he eats this and I’m mix it with Sports Mix. My puppy loves this.They both poop better, solid not running easily cleaned up they are happy and I’m happy. Shipping was within two days. I can always count on Chewy for delivery of pet food for all my cats and dogs!

Doing better!
My puppy had mushy stools & this change has helped him get almost back to normal. The breeder had him on Solid Gold formula but she said his stools were always mushy. He is very healthy & loves the food. I liked there was a probiotic in the ingredients. My daughter recommended Canidae too as she feeds it to her golden.
