Important Information
Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Best and most harmless stuff for my animals ever
By Jackie on Apr 7, 2021
I have been using Capstar for well over 6 years. Anytime I see the dogs scratching I give a Capstar and by the next day the scratching is over. I am also reminded at the time to give them their monthly flea killer Chewable after I give them their Capstar. They don't like to take Capstar of their own free will. One dog will take it if I wrap it in a small bit of American Cheese just to cover the small pill, the other dog refuses no matter what it is put in, so I put the pill between my thumb and forefinger and put down the back of her throat and quickly close her mouth it's such a small pill that its not hard to do. Cats are notorious for fleas and I don't give them a monthly pill so when I have been using Capstar for well over 6 years. I have never had a cat refuse it giving it to them in this way. The great thing about this pill is if it doesn't work in a day you can give it to them again the next day. I have only had to do that one time. All I can say is it works and I believe it is safe at least for my furbabies it is, I have never had a problem with it. … more

Flea medication
By AmyG on Mar 30, 2021
The reason for my mediocre rating is that there isn't any information on the package or the insert to tell you how often you give the medicine. I had to search on line to find out that you dose whenever you see fleas on your dog. I was expecting this to be a once monthly pill, not a vague "whenever" pill.

works as advertised
By pollchecker on Apr 5, 2021
This stuff works. Bit of advice: The larger the dog, the higher the probability you will have to treat them twice especially if the fleas are bad. Followed up with a good flea collar that kills the flea eggs, etc and treat their bedding and no more problems.

damaged box
By momofcinco on Apr 7, 2021
I love this product and believe it does its job; however, my products box arrived damaged. I did not return it because the pills were secured and all 6 were present. I hope the next time I order, the box will be in better shape.

Worked for our Shepherd!
By 2Shepherds on Feb 23, 2021 top500Contributor
We normally buy the Advantus chewables, but to save a little $ and not needing as many this time of year, I tried Capstar with our last order. It worked just as well, though I did have to cover it in some canned food for her to eat it, not being a chewable like the other. No side effects, and it does what it's supposed to. The other product is more cost effective, but nice to have a back up when needed.

Finding Dead Fleas!
By Vince on Jan 30, 2021
I've been finding dead fleas within hours of giving the pill to my 30 lb dog. Many reviewers are claiming Capstar doesn't work because they still see fleas days later. REMEMBER: This product only effectively kills ADULTS for 24 hours. Also, a downside is that the flea must feed in order for it to work. Additionally, if there are eggs or larva on your dog, then on day 2 or 3 the larva will develop into adults, and YES you will see fleas. Re-dose the moment you see a flea. You must be diligent. Wash and sanitize the entire environment: carpets, rugs, dog beds, human bedding, blankets, throws, etc. Yes. it's exhausting!

Excellent at killing fleas!
By KathiH on Mar 20, 2021
Arrived quickly. This killed the infestation and now we are hoping the new flea meds from the vet in addition to their HW preventative (which does contain some flea preventative) will keep them at bay!!!

I love it.
By Brandi12 on Feb 24, 2021
My blue heeler had severe Flea bite dermatitis. Capstar immediately targeted the problem and within 2 days she was already showing improvements. The fur that she had lost along her back has fully regrown and she has no more sores. She is happier, and so am I. Fully recommend.
