  • Does what it claims to do!

I buy this for my cat who has had severe allergic reactions to topical spot treatments. When she has fleas, she gets these scabby feeling bumps down her back and her coat becomes thinner. These tablets help so much. She won't eat them on her own so I have to either break it up and mix it with her wet food, or smush it into a soft chewy treat. Normally, about a 1/2hr to hour after she's eaten it, she gets a little itching and grooming fit so I know the fleas are going crazy. It is NOT a preventive so of course you have to buy more if you decide to take this route and the fleas come back. • It works!!

I have to say, it's difficult to watch my cat go into hyper grooming and itching mode, but the fleas are definitely dying and falling off of him. It looks painful for him, but I know he's in hyper grooming mode because the fleas are actively dying. I told him it's like having the chicken pox: it sucks, but it will be over soon. My daughter's suggestion: look on YouTube to see other cat reactions if you get concerned. I did and apparently this behavior is completely normal. Read all inserts and the back of the box so that you know what "uh oh" symptoms to look out for. Bless his kitty heart!!! But hopefully he'll feel better soon! These current symptoms are temporary!! • Capstar is great!!

    By on

My cat has had fleas for months mostly because I used to let him out during the day. I have tried a topical treatment (which we both hate) for 3 or 4 months with no success. I ordered Capstar over the weekend. It came Tuesday and I gave him one in his food right away. I didn't know when he had eaten it since it was hidden in his food. Around 4:00 he started running around the house. I wasn't sure what was going on. Later he was sitting on my lap relaxing and I noticed my pants had fleas on them. Most of them were staggering around so I knew they were dying. My cat is white so fleas show up really well. When I checked his fur, I did not see any. • best thing for rescue

    By on

This is a must have for rescue. I capstar and crate every foster for a few hours so capstar can kill all the adult fleas I dose them daily for the first few days until the topical treatment starts working. Another thing I do is select at random 3 of my personal cats and dose them with capstar and crate them for few hours this gives me a chance to make sure my pets are still flea free. I think capstar is the best flea killer I've used and being in rescue I've used everything. I wish they could make it work on flea eggs and create something that works longer but this is definitely worth the money

  • Here's the deal...

    By on

The first time I tried this, I thought it worked amazing. I have 2 cats, and over the past couple months I noticed that they had been scratching, & itching a lot. So I looked everywhere, tried every medicine and nothing worked. Bathing them once a week didn't work as well because the fleas would come back! So, I finally decided to try this out according to the reviews. Some worked, and some didn't. This medicine works great, but the downside of it is that I have to feed them to my cats once a week or else the fleas will come back. Don't get me wrong it isn't too expensive... but it adds up buying medicine every 6 weeks!

  • Good product

If a person really needs some form of flea killer, and Chewy provides a 2 pack of Advantage for cats..that is what you should purchase. The reason being Capstar only kills adult fleas, and Advantage kills adult fleas, eggs and larva for 30 days. Both products work. Capstar is for quick kill, and Advantage is long term, and it kills everything.

  • Love This Product

    By on

I really love this it works good because I can't use the advantage on my cat he gets sick and I can't get by cat a bath he hates them. I also can't get my cat to wear a collar he hates them too. This is the only thing that works for my cat. The only thing I wish it was strong than it is so that the pills last longer, because you only get 6 pills.

  • Helps Keep Down the Flea Population

    By on

This product has made all the difference in helping keep our pets flea free. We found that using topicals just wasn't enough to keep pets comfortable, especially during hot weather. One of our dogs was consistently infected, prompting us to use daily flea combing. Using Capstar once or twice a week has made all the difference.

  • Extremely effective but short term

    By on

This is what the vet gives all dogs when they board them to keep kennel from contamination. It starts working in 30 minutes and kills all fleas, but only last a few days. We have on dog, a Rottweiler, that the fleas gravitate to over all over animals in the house. This is literally HALF of what I pay at the vet! Thank you Chewy!
