This is just what I wanted. A lot of swinging gates have a opening in the middle of the gate which leaves a bar across the floor, this one does not. Makes it easier to pass through with my cane or walker. Husband says it was very easy to install. I can say it is also easy to use! This is the only gate I will use anymore. Replacing all my gates with this type!
Cardinal gates are lightweight, adaptable to various width openings, and easy to install and use. We now have 5 of them so we can keep the dogs safely in various rooms as needed, including one at the bottom of our stairs. Having no annoying bottom rail along the floor to trip over is a huge relief. We can't say enough good things about these gates.
This gate was easy to install, it's sturdy, and the locking mechanism is fairly straightforward. My only problem was that I have three dogs, and to keep the little one inside, I had to set the gate fairly low to the floor. This allowed my big dog to jump over it. I ended up getting a second one that I installed on top of the first one. My only issue is that the locking mechanism for my second gate was rusty and is much more difficult to use than the first. Otherwise the product is great. I suggest you check the lock before you screw it into your wall.
