CaribSea Aragonite Florida Aquarium Crushed Coral performs exactly as described. My pH was raised to 8.4 in just a matter of days. Plus, this substrate just looks beautiful in my 125g aquarium. Note: RINSE THOROUGHLY!!! Even when you think you have this substrate rinsed enough... RINSE AGAIN!! Your water may still be cloudy afterwards however, once everything settles... It WILL be worth it.

Stablized PH and KH

I live in the Midwest and our water here is very hard and full of carbonates. That means when I do a water change the PH of my water jumps because of the carbonates in the water and over time they dissolve causing the PH to lower. I place this Aragonite crushed coral in a filter media bag and put it in my filter to stabilize both the PH and KH of my water to prevent crashes and spikes when I change the water in my fish tank. That all sounds really complicated but basically all you need to know is that this product is the real thing because it works aragonite is intended. It really is crushed coral and most fish tanks will benefit at least somewhat by having a small media bag of crushed coral to stabilize the KH. If you have Africah Cichlids or another type of fish that thrives on a higher PH it might be good to also use as a base layer for your substrate.

I would definitely recommend this to people who want to buff their PH. My PH is 8.1 and perfect. I use crushed coral in my saltwater aquarium. I mix it with sand sometimes or have put it in a mesh bag and put it in a canister filter. It works great to stabilize my PH.
