It includes a pressure-mount system and comes with hardware if you would like to physically mount it to your wall. This gate also has a small door to let smaller animals pass through while keeping everyone else out. Precautions
The gap between the door latch and the frame is not a defect. This is a pressure mounted gate, during proper installation the gate frame will flex and the gap will disappear. NOT recommended for use with children. Install according to manufacturer’s manufactures instructions. ALWAYS install and use [gate/enclosures] as directed using all required parts. STOP using when a child or pet can climb over or dislodge the gate. Use only with the locking/latching mechanism securely engaged. To prevent falls, NEVER use at top of stairs. NEVER use to keep child or pet away from pool. This is a Pet Gate, but when used with children, the small pet door must remain closed and securely latched. Strangulation hazard: pets can force themselves into very small openings; use this gate with pets whose heads will not fit into openings in the gate, between the gate and floor, or between the gate and wall. NEVER leave child or pet unattended. Check the gate regularly to see if all the hardware and mountings are tightened. Do not use if any components are missing or damaged. Adult assembly required.

Poor long term quality

I use these daily, I have 4 two at this point have broken at the latch, or where at latches the plastic just split one at the top One at the bottom. I’m extremely disappointed. Now we wait for the other ones to fall apart. Very disappointed

Best pet gate I've found

I recently bought a third Carlson walk-through gate (All three doors where I wished to control dog access are now covered) for its ease of installation, ease in stepping through, small door so my cats can cross but not my dogs, and its style. I'm 100 percent satisfied with this product!

Attractive gate

The gate is attractive, works very well in our home, and I no longer have to worry about the puppy eating the cat’s food. The pin that latches the main swing door could be a little longer to more securely put the gate in place. Also, the directions should better explain the pressure concept of the installation.

Dinky, not worth it

The size is good, but this this is so dinky. Makes SO MUCH NOISE with every touch. The door slams shut. I was expecting a bit higher quality and wish I could return this

Door too big

I needed to close off my laundry room so the dog couldn’t get into the cat food and litter. My 25 lb Cocker Spaniel EASILY goes through. I checked the size of the door and most doors are the same size. Looks nice, but trying to figure how to make the door smaller

Small door can not be removed!

The gate is attractive and works well from a human perspective. However, the small door can not be removed! Had we known that, we wouldn't have purchased it. We want to leave that door open, and there is no way to keep it open. It can't be opened wide to lie flat against the rest of the gate, so there is no way to tie it open.
