My cat and I are both happy with this food.

By Chipper on Sep 16, 2020

My cat will not drink. Not from a bowl, not from a fountain. I'm always looking for ways to get more water into her so her kidneys will stay healthy. Stews are good because they have a high water content, plus I add extra water. Previously my cat was eating a stew made by a different manufacturer, but My cat will not drink. I am very picky about safety and ingredients, and chose to switch to Caru stew in part because it was recommended in the Truth About Pet Food website's annual list of trusted foods. My cat (a healthy 8-year-old) dove into the Caru Chicken Stew immediately and continues to eat it eagerly. It's true that, as others have written, the appearance of the food is a little odd and not exactly what I'd call a stew. It looks more like a thick baby food with a few chunks of chicken here and there. But that doesn't matter if your cat likes the food. Although the labeling on the box makes it sound like you can close it to store the food after opening, I don't see any way to reseal it. A box lasts me for four meals (supplemented with dry food), so I pour the contents into a small glass storage dish with a snap-on lid and refrigerate it. … more

    Sorry, but this is AWFUL

I'm disappointed that I had to give this a star but no stars was not an option. The description of this product was so wonderful that I really thought this would be a good addition for my seven cats but not one of them would even attempt to eat it - they all walked away from it. The description of this product was so wonderful that I really thought this would be a good addition for my seven cats but not one of them would even attempt to eat it - they all walked away from it. After four separate attempts to get at least one of them to try it, I finally gave up. Even my nose wrinkled when I poured it out of the container, not because of the smell (which is non-existent) but because of its look. It is NOT stew. It's a cross between bumpy pablum and over-cooked oatmeal. It's been pureed so much that there are NO pieces of anything that could be called a vegetable. Don't even get me started on "where's the chicken". I don't even know what color to describe it. It's grey, no it's beige, no it's the palest of yellow or it's those three colors combined. CARU needs to correct the description of this product or drastically change the way they produce it. It's not at all as described. … more

    Picky Elderly Cat Loved it!

    By on

This food is like a very liquidy pate, I call it gruel. My 17 year old loves it! She has been picky lately, licking the gravy off the chunky food. But this is kinda like a very thick gravy, some days she willbeat all 6oz! Which is great cause she is lising weight due to age! Because of the virus, the package took a bit longer to get here, but not too long, and it was expected!

    My cat loves it.

She didn't really like the other flavor, Salmon & Turkey, so I was a little concerned, but she likes this one much better than the other flavor and eats it without any topping.

    cleaned their bowls

I have 3 cats in the 5-7 year old range and they all like different things. I’ve tried many things to which they mostly eat to some degree, usually leaving a bit of food in their bowls. This was unanimously loved by all 3. Their bowls were licked clean. It’s not the usual can or pouch container so that can take some getting used to but I experienced no special difficulty with the mini box. You rip off the perforated line and pour out. It wasn’t any more of a hassle to get each drop than it is out of a can or pouch. Highly recommend for quality and nutrients. The consistency is more stew like but doesn’t have big chunks of meat.

This food is awesome & worth every penny! I've been struggling to find a good cat food for my cat who was always getting sick from foods. He lost so much weight I was scared. Now he is thriving & loving this food! My prayers have been answered. I highly recommend this brand.

My 15 year old Hyperthroid fur Baby Crumb loves it. She is a hard sell too.

    By on

I was thrilled she likes it. I cook fowl for her myself along with feeding her a few other foods she likes. She has had a couple teeth pulled so it is harder for her to chew. I was thrilled to see this food and gave it a go. I am so glad I did. You will have to use a small jar type spatula to get it all out but you will. It is a bit costly but she is so worth it. I do consider my cats my children and give them the best possible care and that includes foods. I will alternate this with her other dishes.

    Great food!

    By on

I have never seen my cat eat food that quickly in the two years shes existed! I am extremely happy with the results, considering this food is fairly expensive. She doesn't like pate and would only lick the gravy from the top for fancy feasts gravy lovers, so I figured something like this would be more her style and I was correct. Feeding her dry food on the morning for breakfast and this for dinner means this 12 pack will last me 24 days which is nice. I highly recommend this brand!

    Great quality food

My cat loves this food. He can smell it when I open it and comes running. The packaging is a little more difficult than some. However it is recyclable which I like. After all of it pours out I run a little stream of water on all sides to get the rest. I use a wooden coffee stirrer to help get it all out. Cats need all the water they can get. I mix it up and my cat still likes it even though it is slightly more runny. I have tried the chicken and turkey and he enjoys both. My cat also eats raw food from Primal so he’s not really a picky eater. He eats this once a day and raw the other meal. I keep a little bit of dry out for in between. He likes the Orijen regional red cat food. I have a 13 pound My cat loves this food. He can smell it when I open it and comes running. The packaging is a little more difficult than some. Fantastic!

    By on

I usually make my cat her own food but when I go on vacation it's easier for someone else to use these. I do use these sometimes too if I don't have food already made. She loves it! It doesn't smell funny like other wet cat foods. It looks like real shredded chicken because it is! I will certainly recommend this everyone looking for a high quality cat food!
