Feed alone or use as a tasty topper with dry food. When fed alone, use 1 pack daily for every 12 lbs. body weight. If feeding with dry dog food reduce dry by 2/3 cup for every 1 pack of wet. Adjust the amount of food fed to meet your dog's individual needs. Always provide access to fresh water.
Refrigerate for up to 3 days after opening.
Slowly transition your pet to Caru stews over a period of about 7 days so that the new food is not a sudden shock to their system. Mix 25% of the new food in with 75% of the current food for the first 2 days, then mix 50% new food with 50% existing food for the next 2 days, then mix 75% new food with 25% current food for the next 2 days. By day seven, you can feed your dog 100% new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process.
My dogs won’t eat this food they walk away and won’t eat. I bought two cases of 12 containers each. Now what do I do?
The line of Caru foods is human grade. I am involved in animal rescue and have both dogs and cats living with me. This food is extremely healthy for them in many ways. The dogs like the flavor and I often mix it with types of food from The Honest Kitchen which is also human grade. I would recommend this line to everyone who wants to get away from the junk offered in the grocery store.
Bought this expensive food thinking that it would be a treat for my two finicky dogs. Have tried all the other wet foods on the general market (Purina, Blue Buffalo, etc, etc.) and wind up throwing most of it out the following day. When I received my order, I was eager to try it. It comes in waxed cardboard containers that are a bit of a challenge to open. When I opened the first box, it looked anything but appetizing. It’s a dark brown, baby food consistency with occasional lumps. My dogs are as thrilled as I was! Sniffed and walked away. Wast of money!
I ordered this food after having it recommended from a Chewy representative. I was looking for something good, grain free, wholesome made and definitely made in the USA. Unfortunately, it looks disgusting and my girls wouldn't touch it. I sure wish they could make it look more appetizing. It looks like vomit.
I had higher hopes based on the reviews, but my 2 pugs won't eat it. I thought the texture was going to be more like a real stew with chunks of food. it's a puree. They turn their heads and won't eat it.
Horrible consistency, like paste. Unappealing smell. I’ll admit that I have a fussy eater but usually she will at least try everything. Not this.
Quality seemed good, but more like baby food. My dogs are very picky and I was hoping this was the answer to an easier dinner time. However, they would not eat it.
I bought this to use as a topper for my dogs dry food. I have 6 dogs, 2 of the 6 love it, 2 are so-so, 1 will eat anything, and 1 won’t touch it. It seems healthy, but I wasn’t expecting it to be so mushy. So a bit messy for my crew. Not sure if I’d purchase again for my crew, considering the cost and how I use it. But we do have some friends who love it for their dog.
My dog Layla would go days without eating. She turned up her nose to every dry food I would buy for her—and I’ve tried A LOT. I settled on Gentle Giants dry food because it’s something I can get for her and my growing puppy—plus I like the ingredients in it. Anyways, I was on a search to find her something that would make her want to eat so I found this after doing research. First off, it was delivered to my door in less than 24 hours, AND Layla licked her bowl clean. I’ve never seen her eat so fast in my life! I mixed this with the Gentle Giants dry food, and she was in heaven. This food is worth every penny. I highly recommend it.
I am pleased with this product. My dog loves it. I think she would like any quality wet food, but I feel more comfortable feeding food made with human grade ingredients. I feed dry food as well. I don't mix it together, but just top dress it with Daily Dish with her supplements mixed in it. The box they come in could be a little stronger to avoid damage in shipment.
