This is not what I expected when I ordered a Casper dog bed. It is not waterproof not even water resistant. The cushions sagged after only 3 months. So the bolster sides your dog loves so much? Bye bye. The fabric as many others mention stains simply from my dogs wet nose. It does not wash away. I have a female border collie at an ideal weight (41 pounds) and the recommended bed size is way too small. Not medium. She would need a large. So it might be cute that it comes with a waffle toy and says Casper on it but it is not a high quality product. I am terribly disappointed and already shopping for a new bed for her. With a much smaller budget now. Any feedback, customer service?
I’ve bought several other beds in the past for Remy (our 50 pound standard poodle pup), and this has been his favorite by far. Despite people saying it’s not waterproof (3M it if you need to) the material feels durable and it’s also washable. The foam that goes inside is easy to assemble.
I expected this for the money to be spectacular and easy to maintain. What I found out is that stains go right through the top layer, whether it be my dog just licking his paws or an accident. And the stains dont come out in the wash at all. The cushions are permanantly stained after a few weeks. The cover also starts to pill up and takes on more hair when washed and dried. Ive been happier with 30 dollar beds with cheap zippers. They wash a lot better, but are a pain to get back together. The only win for this bed is that it is constructed well and goes back together easy. But.... you end up putting something back together with stains all over so its not really a win at all. Very disappointed for the money.
I bought this for my old dog because he only seems to be able to get comfortable on our mattress, which is a Casper. I thought this bed would be a good solution for him however the insert is not nearly as supportive and feels like it’s just regular foam. My dog sunk to the floor. The second issue is the noise, this has a waterproof cover that makes a sounds every time he moved. For the price, I expected it to be much better.
Bed was ruined after it got peed on. Outer cover supposedly can be washed but stains don’t come out and fluids go right into memory foam which cannot be washed.
This bed is pricy, but worth it! We got our dachshund the small and she loves it. I love that the cover can easily go in the washer.
We bought this bed for our 2 year old PWD who had out-grown his old bed. He took to it right away. It is holding up well and was fairly easy to remove the cover for washing.
My dog does not like this bed. it's very firm and does not have walls for her to rest her head on which she likes. The photo makes it look like it sinks a little in the middle so she would have walls. This bed is expensive so I expected it to be more comfortable. Maybe for a larger, heavier dog it would work better. She is only 30lbs.
I have an older boxer who is having hip and knee issues and this bed has been a lifesaver! I originally purchased one for the family room and she loved it, so I ended up ordering one for her for upstairs where we sleep. She has a much easier time getting up form bed with these CASPER beds. The first one I have had for 2 1/2 years and it is still as firm and comfortable for her this long after. Very easy to wash the outer case which is soft yet incredible durable with all of her "fluffing". Purchasing a second was a no brainer for her comfort and health. You will not be disappointed.
We wanted to get an orthopedic bed for our dog. Looked at reviews and decided on the Casper bed. Wanted a cover that was durable but not as noisy as nylon ripstop fabric. Unfortunately, the cover on the Casper just doesn't hold up. After three months, all four corner seams had been popped open by our dog biting onto the bed. The bed looks super ratty. The corners are clearly a weak point in the design of the cover. The marketing and dog research they had allegedly done sounded promising. Meanwhile, our other round donut bed from K9 Ballistics is 18 months old and looks brand new. Complaint for that bed is that the fabric is very loud when our dog is digging his bed to settle in. Ultimately the noise is worth the durability, as we learned. Once we toss the Casper bed we will get the orthopedic model from K9 Ballistics. Not plugging that brand, it's just the only bed out of four that we've owned in two years that wasn't destroyed quickly.
