  • One cat will eat it, the other walked off.

I just opened about the 2nd pouch of this, it has just little square Chunks of food. In a brown pouch, not enough gravy, the chunks seem a bit larger. one cat eats it, the one I want to eat it, my 6 year old, she licks the little gravy, then walks away. They both actually preferred American journey wet food in gravy more minced, I got this because of what I had read online. That it is supposed to be one of the best foods out there but, If you're cats won't eat it, it's a complete waste of money!! I think if it had smaller morsels and was more. Moist they might both eat it? I'll try cutting it up smaller..even, my other cat struggles with the size of the chunks. The tiny cans, they make are ridiculous! Not enough food, or cost effective. … more

  • Winner In My Household

    By on

My two cats love this product. I've been using it for a month and they're still diggin' it. I interchange with the turkey, salmon and whitefish formulas. I think the amount of gravy is perfect - not too much and not too little. Their coats appear to be shinier. They are very picky eaters, so, I'm very happy to have found this food.

  • Great cat food!

My cat loves the free-range chicken recipe morsels in gravy cat food. One of his favorite along with the free-range turkey recipe and the wild-caught salmon recipe. I recommend Castor and Pollux cat food because they produce organic or sustainably sourced pet food which is safe for the health of the pet and for the planet.

  • Wakes me up in the morning to eat this.

Mac only ate dry food when I got him a few weeks ago & I wanted to introduce him to some good quality wet food that I had on hand but he didn't care for it. So I tried this one & he went for it right away & I also give him the dry Castor & pollux food which he likes. I am a happy mama.

  • CATS LOVE THIS! And it cleared up an a;l;lergy to food as well...

Our cats took to this the minute we put it in their bowl, no adjustment period required. And even better, because it is natural, one cat who had an allergy to another brand saw it clear up. Highly recommended. The bowls are always locked clean!

  • Tempting to my cat

My male cat starts sniffing when this food is near and devours it. The high real chicken content and organic ingredients give me confidence that I am doing the best for my cat.

  • Where's the gravy!?

    By on

There are very firm cubes of meat product, tossed in a light coating of gravy, but not as much gravy as other pouch and gravy lovers products. It doesn't lend itself to being forked up with the gravy. It's basically meaty cubes. I've got one little Himi female, The Queen, purchased for a week's pay, and one big old male white and red (orange) tabby, whom I inherited. Both of these cats can be finicky. Both will eat it, but it's not their fav. I like organic food, with organic chicken, organic chicken broth being the first 2 ingredients. Because I'm not wasteful, I will cut pouches first at the top, scoop out the food, and then cut along the side, so I can open it up and use a tiny rubber spatula There are very firm cubes of meat product, tossed in a light coating of gravy, but not as much gravy as other pouch and gravy lovers products. Gravy seems to be The Bomb for both my cats. A little disappointing on the gravy scale, but they will eat it. And it's good for them. … more

  • Excellent Quality!

I feed the Pristine canned Chicken Pate to my two cats who prefer a smoother consistency but my third cat Rosie loves some shreds or chunks to bite into so I purchase these pouches for her. They have similar ingredients to the canned variety but with a bit more moisture from the gravy. My cat eats every last bite of these morsels and I love that Castor & Pollux offers similar recipes but in two different textures because as all cat owners know, each has their own preference. I'm also happy that this food (and the entire Pristine line) is not overloaded with multiple gums/thickeners, flaxseed, starches, or carrageenan. My cats only get fish once a week as too much is really not the best for a cat's health. Also just to note - the image of this food on chewy appears to be "zoomed-in" and is not actual size. The image makes the morsels look overwhelmingly large but in actuality they are small/medium sized chunks & bits. … more
