Not a good product
This is not what it's advertised to be. We have had it for about five months and it's literally falling apart. The "carpet" is not carpet, it's more like a thin backed rug with soft fuzzy nape. The "carpet" is coming apart in chuncks. The bottom section is no longer attached to the carboard core and there is no way to repair it. Our cat uses it everyday and it started dismantaling after about a month, I decided to wait to write the review to see if it was going to stablize, it hasn't. I would never buy it again. I was glad to find a post with carpet because they are now made from rope that he won't use. Back to looking for something durable. The last one we had gotten from a competitor lasted 10 years! He finally wore it out and we tried two of the rope style and then this. Expensive for what you get.
Bruce loves it!
This post is great BUT it is NOT a long lasting item. I look at it as a treat. It has also stopped the scratching of the furniture. The post is tall and on the sturdy side. Bruce Wayne (Bat Cat) loves it. We bought the first one 2+ years ago. It was easy to assemble and it is nice looking. It didn’t take long for the wear to begin to show. We switched the top and the bottom pieces since he had scratched ALL of the “carpet” off and we turned it periodically to give him a fresh area. It does make a mess on the floor but it’s not that hard to sweep up. Even if we have to replace it every 2 years it is only $1.90 a month - a bargain for the amount of joy it brings him not to mention the furniture that it saves!! We are repurchasing.
Finally a post tall enough to stretch and climb!
My cat is pretty long and loves to stretch, but most taller posts/trees have a platform part way up so he can't stretch his full body length. This post solves that, and is tall enough he can climb it a little bit rather than being able to just jump up. He absolutely loves this tree. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the post is a pretty wobbly, especially when the cat is on the top half, and we had to put weights on the base to keep it from tipping over. But with the extra weight, it works perfectly!
Nice but...
Bought this locally before I knew Chewy had it. Put together easily. Our 2 cats loved it but tore up the low pile carpet in short order. Want to get replacement cylinders. Filled out their e-mail form twice. No response from the vendor so would not buy again.
Great scratcher
This is our third scratching post. Our cat REALLY LOVES IT. It's tall enough for cat to scratching. Price is very reasonable (I like when it's on sale). We have American short hair cat. He is an average size cat and this post is great for him. We will buy it again when this one will be destroyed..lol... Please, continue to make it.

Not too bad
Have had this for a while and my oldest used it regularly in our old place. After we moved, I could not find a spot for it in the living area. It was the scratcher or the cat tree, so I moved it to a bedroom, where it is used but not as much. The base is just too big. I bought it because it is one of the few scratchers that still is covered in carpet. Both my boys will not touch sisal and seagrass products are way too expensive to experiment with. It is sad and frustrating that the industry has pretty much dumped carpet scratchers and sells just sisal ones, which would stay untouched in my house. I dread the day I have to replace the cat tree, which is coming soon.
Simple Scratcher for Big Cats
I put this one in my office next to the loveseat. It's taller than I expected (should have measured), but actually is working out better than I anticipated. The cats scratch at it, sure, but they also use it to climb up on to the back of the couch, so they aren't clawing up the couch as much. The top of the post is just wide enough for them to sit on and bat at the ball at the top as well. They even like to just curl up and sleep at the base of it. All-around pretty good purchase for the price.
too wobbly
This is great in height for my Maine Coon but it’s so wobbly it’s not funny. I’ve tried everything imaginable to tighten this and reduce the wobble and nothing works. It’s every frustrating
