The Cat Craft 3-Tier Floor-to-Ceiling Cat Tree fits ceilings up to 9 feet.
Everyone is too busy being mid century modern to bother making carpet scratchers anymore. My cat is a 15 year old lady and she only wants carpet scratchers with short pile. She’s also long and slender, and likes to stretch fully when scratching, so the post has to be long and tall, too. This is essentially the only one that fits the bill and still somewhat reasonable in price and accessible. The pile used to be a lot more dense and didn’t shed so much, and longer lasting, but it will do. I have 4 of these at my house and am here to buy a fifth one. I hope they don’t discontinue making these. Chewy, please also carry the replacement posts!
I am ordering my second of these cat trees because my cats absolutely love them. They are easy to put together and the cats go crazy over them. They love to scratch their claws on the pole and race to the top shelf. The one I currently have is in the basement and the top shelf is level with a basement window so they can sit up there and look out that window. I'm ordering a second for another basement window so they will have two lookouts.
I wish I read the reviews about needing a tool to cut the top support pipe beforehand, but I was just excited to get this tree. If your ceiling is under 9ft you’ll need to cut the top to match its height. The claim that it needed no tools at all in the description of the product is a little frustrating because I did end up buying a pipe cutter for the convenience of it and I’ll likely never use that again. The cats love this so far. It is definitely NOT stable enough to put in the middle of a room or anything. Keep it against a wall or corner, especially if you have cats that chase each other when they play or a heavier cat. I don’t know if it will hold up with time. I hope so, because I like floor-to-ceiling cat trees a lot and I think it’s a great concept. It looks nice and clean, too.
My Siamese loves it! Climbs it full speed ahead and it bends and snaps back. She has a ball! It’s not really carpet, some other loosely woven stuff that can come apart in no time if it’s the only available cat scratching post. I’d say get a couple of other scratching posts. Also I had some hemp rope and I covered the bottom post with it. I’ve had it for about a year and it’s still on there so I say to wrap all posts and it will last a whole lot longer.
The essential hardware that connects the tree to the ceiling was not included in the box. It looks like the tree I received had already been opened and they retapped it and resold it to me without all the parts!! This tree is useless now.
Was easy assembly but shelves are to far apart for smaller cats and to small for larger cat to lay. Even my large cat has a hard time to get from one shelf to another and I’ve rearranged several ways
I’ve had this tree up for 5 years, and my cats love it. They are small kitties, 7 pounds each and love running up and down and using the top perch to hide from the toddler in the house. I had a little help getting it secured to the ceiling; it needs to be placed tightly. It does sway slightly, when they’re running up and down, but it has never moved out of place.
As soon as my cat gets on the tree and starts to play he shifts the entire tree until the spring ejects into space. Spring loaded is NOT the way to go.
My cats are very happy with the cat tree. As far as the sturdiness it is wobbly when the cats run and jump then climb on it. I can see that this will be something that will not last for "years" and need replacement. I will replace it as my cats really enjoy it. That is why I gave it a 4 star rating.
The posts are super flimsy and ended up bending somehow and collapsed the whole thing. I really thought the posts were carpet wrapped plastic, but it seems like they are all just rolls of carpet or cardboard or something. If your cats sharpen their claws on it, which I assume they are meant to do, it will not last long.
