Description

Encourage your pet to eat his greens with a grass growing kit from The Cat Ladies. Like humans, pets of all species instinctively crave healthy doses of the vitamins and minerals found in vegetables. That's why you might spot your pet chewing grass in your lawn—or even munching on your houseplants. Trouble is, they're often treated with chemicals and can be toxic to animals. With a proprietary blend of wheat, oats, rye, barley and flax, this bed of greens will be safe for your pal to snack on. Best of all, the kit comes with everything you need to grow the perfect bed of grass in your own home. It's so easy, you can turn planting into a fun, educational activity with your kids, nephews and nieces, or grandchildren. And don't let these ladies fool you! They didn't make this kit exclusively for their feline friends. Dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and reptiles can enjoy munching on the fruit—or the grass—of your labor within 4-5 days of planting! It's a healthy treat made by pet lovers, for pet lovers.

Key Benefits
  • Kit makes it easy to grow pet-friendly grass—it's so simple, you can turn it into a family activity and teach your kids or grandkids how plants grow!
  • Proprietary blend contains vitamins A, B, C, E and K, along with calcium, chlorophyll, iron and more to give your pal's health a boost.
  • Grass contains folic acid, which helps your pet's body produce hemoglobin—a protein that moves oxygen through the blood.
  • Safe for many common pet species, such as cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and reptiles like turtles and iguanas.
  • Sprouts within 4-5 days, even for those without a green thumb, and makes an excellent gift for the animal lovers in your life.

Nutritional Info
Ingredients

Organic Wheat Seed, Organic Rye Seed, Organic Oat Seed, Organic Barley Seed, Organic Flax Seed.

Feeding Instructions

Feed to your pet as a healthy reward or snack. Adjust the serving size according to the size of your pet. If your pet is hesitant to eat the grass from the planter, you can try cutting some pieces up and putting it with their food, or some pets even prefer to eat the bits from the floor. You can spritz the grass with water or hide a treat in the grass to encourage feeding.

Instructions

1) Add soil contents to planter

2) Add enough warm (not hot) water to fully moisten the soil (about 5 or 6 ounces)

3) After water absorbs, stir soil and allow to sit for about 10 minutes

4) Fluff soil and remove about 2-3 tbsp. soil and set aside.

5) Sprinkle seeds evenly over soil

6) Cover seeds with 1/8-inch soil and gently press soil over seeds

7) Place planter in a warm, semi dark area (just away from direct light, not in complete darkness as it may cause mold). NOTE: For faster results cover planter loosely with plastic wrap just until first sprouts appear (no longer than 1-2 days)

8) After sprouts appear or no more than two days, remove plastic wrap and move to a sunny location

9) Keep soil moist until grass reaches 3 inches. Check moisture daily. Once established: do not over water.

10) In about 4-7 days, once grass reaches about 4-5 inches it is ready to feed to your pet.

    JUNK, PURE AND SIMPLE

    By on

The box arrived a little bit banged up. Any halfway decent product wouldn't have been affected. The INCREDIBLY, ultra cheap, flimsy growing containers were split, smashed... After using a half roll of duct tape, I got them patched up a little bit. I went ahead and planted the seeds, so we'll see what happens. I'm an old time gardener.....hopefully I can salvage this piece of.....junk. Having decades of experience starting garden plants, I was able to get everything set up. The directions provided by the "cat ladies" are absolutely worthless.....heck, I'll be generous....not good for someone without any gardening experience. I live on a farm and have barn cats. Having decades of experience starting garden plants, I was able to get everything set up. The directions provided by the "cat ladies" are absolutely worthless.....heck, I'll be generous....not good for someone without any gardening experience. I live on a farm and have barn cats. I take a handful of oats, fling them out along the fence row and the barn cats chow down when the oats start growing. I recently adopted two incredibly abused kittens from a rescue group. These kitties are indoor varmints. They're terrified of the outdoors right now so we're keeping them inside until they gain some confidence and grow some more. I wsnt to provide them with some salad fixings along with their kibble and tuna. I was hoping that this product would do the trick. Based on the absolute TERRIBLE quality of the containers, I'm not expecting the quality and viability of the seeds and growing medium to be any better. My advice....get out some oldTupperware, punch a few holes in the bottom for drainage and go to your local feed store and buy a 50 pound bag of race horse oats and some garden soil and have at it. I got duped and I should have known better. … more

    waste of money

    By on

First of all the instructions aren’t clear about the cheap plastic containers of which is a top and bottom. They also crack and break easy. Just moving or picking them up cracks the cheap plastic. My cats aren’t interested in the grass at all. I now have dead grass that is just trash. I managed to grow it fine even though the containers are awful but my cats were repelled by it. I won’t even bother growing more. I’m very disappointed. These are way over priced for the quality of the product.

    Wow did it grow!

    By on

We’ve ordered let grass before and had so-so luck with it. This one grew huge in just a few days! The closed container creates a greenhouse affect or something so it really grows well. The grass was very thick with an excellent root system so we put the whole thing in a pot with potting soil and our cats love it. So far the grass is still growing strong and the cats have not destroyed it. The root system it created in just a couple of days makes the grass stick together so they can’t pull out the seed and all like we’ve experienced with others.

    Great results with first use!

    By on

Instructions and results were spot on! Ease and price point will make this our kit of choice going forward. Oddly though our cat ate grass outdoors but wasn't drawn to this or the other kit we purchased on the first round. Going to continue growing this one for another couple of weeks to see if he may just need time to get accustomed to it.

    Merlin the Cat

    By on

My cat Merlin loves them. They are really easy to grow and he is chewing on the grass now instead of my plants. Definitely would recommend it.

    Lovely edible plant

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I only recently planted these. So it’s just the beginning stage. I know that we are going to love these plants once they start growing!

    Cat grass not noticed

    By on

My cat never even looked at it. I placed it beside his food and my houseplants. He did not even look at it sniff of it or anything. I wasted money on this. I'll not try it again.

    Kitty grass

    By on

When I started to take Lenox out for walks he would eat the grass. May I tell you I didn't know what to think, I have only had dogs all my life. A few outdoor cats back on the 80's. Dogs eat grass because they are ill, I didn't realize kitties love grass. Thank you for the kitty grass, Lenox really, really, really likes it!!!!
