Nutritional Info
Ingredients

Organic Hard Red Wheat Grass Seed, Organic Rye Seed, Organic Flax Seed, Organic Oat Seed, Organic Barley Seed.

Instructions

1) Add soil contents to planter

2) Add enough warm (not hot) water to fully moisten the soil (about 5 or 6 ounces)

3) After water absorbs, stir soil and allow to sit for about 10 minutes

4) Fluff soil and remove about 2-3 tbsp. soil and set aside.

5) Sprinkle seeds evenly over soil

6) Cover seeds with 1/8-inch soil and gently press soil over seeds

7) Place planter in a warm, semi dark area (just away from direct light, not in complete darkness as it may cause mold). NOTE: For faster results cover planter loosely with plastic wrap just until first sprouts appear (no longer than 1-2 days)

8) After sprouts appear or no more than two days, remove plastic wrap and move to a sunny location

9) Keep soil moist until grass reaches 3 inches. Check moisture daily. Once established: do not over water.

10) In about 4-7 days, once grass reaches about 4-5 inches it is ready to feed to your pet.

Feeding Instructions:

Feed to your pet as a healthy reward or snack. Adjust the serving size according to the size of your pet. If your pet is hesitant to eat the grass from the planter, you can try cutting some pieces up and putting it with their food, or some pets even prefer to eat the bits from the floor. You can spritz the grass with water or hide a treat in the grass to encourage feeding.

    Fun treat for the cats

    By on

I bought this mainly to see if it would help with my cat’s hair balls. It’s still too soon to tell, but they both enjoy eating the grass. The kit was very easy to use and I was quite surprised at how fast the grass grew. I think next time I’ll place a rock in the bottom of the mug to add some more weight to it since one of my cats is pulling the mug up as he tries to eat the grass.

Easy to use, fun for the kitty!

    By on

My little Lucy is still getting used to how to eat the grass without it bothering her nose, but she loves the taste. The set up was easy: hydrate the soil with warm water and watch it expand (science!). Then scoop out a bit, add the seeds, and cover them back up with the soil. A few days later, the grass starts showing and then it shoots up quickly! Great little mug for the grass as well.

    Cute, But Challenging

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I purchased this in the white as a gift. It seemed easy enough for the organically challenged to grow. It never blossomed into the great growth shown in the picture. Just a few small sprouts.

    Cost is high!

    By on

I would have given a five star review, but the cost was high for this product. It is a small container. The grass grew in well and seems to be healthy.

    cat grass, paws up

The cat grass is a big hit. I got 2 sets plus some extra seeds for the future. To start with, I followed the instructions carefully. The grass did sprout, though at first I thought it was a little sparse. However, it filled in by week 2 and is quite thick and lush for my kitties. I could never tell if I had watered it too much, so I came up with a trick to water the grass. (This is after all the grass was at least 4 to 5 inches tall) First, I watered so I could see the water on top of the dirt. Then I gently tipped the cat bowl on its side and slowly poured off the excess. I didn't lose dirt when I did it slowly. This method has worked for me. The next time I can tell it is getting drier, I repeat the process. So far the grass is green and lush. I move it around inside so it gets a few hours of sun each day. Kitty goes and finds it wherever I put it. The only negative is that one of my cats pulls up the grass, rather than cut it off. I have found that if I am careful, I can just push the roots back down into the bowl and it recovers and continues growing. I've never been able to grow cat grass inside before, so I'm glad I got it. So is one of my cats - she gives it a paws up and approves. The other cat just yawned when she saw the grass. … more
