We have 2 bengals The tabby has zero interest in bonito but for the snow, this is his absolute favorite treat. I dont think adult cats will warm up to this as easily as younger ones or will the less-adventurous eaters. I personally like bonito flakes and I was surprised to find this as a treat for cats and also not see any difference in texture or smell between this and what I would have in a restaurant. I have bought this several times and the quality has been consistent. Honestly, I am always tempted to eat them.
One of my cats goes crazy for this. He will not stop meowing until I give him some day or night doesnt matter he always wants it . He even chews through the bag if I forget to put it on his plate. God forbid I forget to order it or I am a day late he acts crazy and follows me around asking for it .
My little kitty just loves this stuff. He would rather eat the bonito than his regular food. When I first got him this and salad shrimp was all he would eat. I stopped giving it to him for about two years. He now thinks it is the best thing that he's ever been served and hangs out by the bag all day.
My tortie absolutely loved this stuff. She chirps and purrs whenever I top her food with it. She also loves it by itself. Our office cat also eats it but less enthusiastically but he is really picky.
Upon opening, they smelled fresh and almost fit for human consumption! Not stinky. They were sure to be a hit with the cats. However, when I offered them to my two cats neither one could figure them out. These treats are very very thin pieces almost like a snowflake. The cats tried to eat them but couldn't? Feeding them from my palm nor laying them on the floor worked. As a last resort I started to top their food with them but that didn't work either. The flakes stuck to the sides of the bowls like paste. I'm not sure if the cats can't see them or can't bite onto them or both? Something is amiss? I can't recommend these treats for cats because even with as good of quality as they seem, the paper thin cut seems to be an obstacle for cats to eat.
They appear expensive but are very light. If I tell them to go to their "spots," they know these are coming and they run there. I can barely get their spots down.
My cats LOVE these dried bonita flakes. We laughingly call it "Kitty Crack" at my house.
So our cat Molly loves this stuff. I like getting it through Chewy because it is a lot more affordable than buying brands in the store. Be aware that the smell can be strong but the seal works fine. Maybe consider a special container. Sprinkle it on their meals or just for a snack. Fish flakes for the win.
My cats loved the Cat-Man-Doo Dried Fish Flakes & they eat it all up, but I cannot take the smell.
My owner, Annie places the Cat Man Doo Bonito Flakes on my breakfast. I let her sleep in most days, as I wait patiently before I sound off (0400 AM). I train her well...
