I have two cats. One who is extremely picky and one who is not. It has been a real big pain in the you-know-what trying to find treats that the one will eat. Blue Buffalo and Greenies have been my go-to, but I wanted something a little less processed.
These are better than what I would have ever expected, and the cats love it! My only issue with these are that you kind-of have to put it in a bowl for them to eat. It will be messy. It also smells VERY fishy when you open the bag, but I'm not eating it so it's not that much of a big deal (ha ha).
Cats love them, but flakes are awkward

I have a finicky and overweight older cat and I bought these to try to get him to eat the diet food I bought for him. He went crazy for the smell when I opened the bag (I also have a kitten and he did too). I sprinkled the flakes on top of their food and they both kind of struggled with the flakes and almost seemed to choke on the strips - they're very thin and papery but super long. I've started breaking the flakes down/crumbling them into smaller pieces and then sprinkling on top of the food which has helped. They both eat the flakes, and still mostly leave the food - but it has helped a little with getting them to eat their food.
too messy and only kind of liked

Way too messy. Probably good if you can feed outside? The light airy dusty flakes are all the place. Only one of my cats liked (not near as much as freeze dried meat) but he mess was horrible. Still looking for a "healthy" treat that doesn't cause the insanity of freeze dried meats - I can't get them to stop eating those and crinkle sound from then on out stirs them up... and they are WAY too expensive for everyday
I recommend them, but with a strong caveat

I think responsible pet owners need to support each other's need to be fully informed, so I insist on balancing these reviews out a bit. One, I do not know if the heavy smoking and forced drying of these treats is entirely free from nitrites, nitrates or the presence of carcinogens (has anyone seen the videos on how bonito flakes are typically made?), but I'll have to be extra trusting on that, since there is no frank feedback on what that secret process entails in these pet-formulated ones, specially when consumed in greater and more regular quantities than just as an occasional appetizer garnish on our own food. My one cat adores these whisper-thin flakes obsessively, possibly even more than her various toy mice, and becomes noticeably end-of-world depressed whenever I withhold these or, failing to do that, am just out. The problem is that she is highly sensitive to today's fish, and so immediately suffers the worst hot spots behind the ears the instant she finishes scarfing a pinch of them down (mind you, she is at all other times the daintiest eater). I started giving these to her as a topper over the last bits of her dehydrated raw meals, to encourage her to finish her small bowl, and they have been a big help. When her ears get inflamed and shredded, though, after her incessant scratching, I have to treat them with the Green Goo ointment I got here or with a drop of neem oil, all while withholding these treats to give her a chance to heal. I know I'm a bad mom for continuing to purchase these for her now that I am more aware of her particular sensitivities, but what can I do? It is the treat that she gets the most absolutely perked up and excited about, and her deep sadness and withdrawal from the world breaks my heart when she goes without. Until someone comes up with whisper thin pork (her favorite) or duck, rabbit or turkey shavings, I will continue to purchase these treats, pushover that I am. If your cats do ok with fish, they will LOVE these treats. If your cats have fish allergies you are already aware of, though, please do not open this door. You won't have the strength to back out once the've been hooked (and they will be).… more
My little girl loves them!

I have a 4 year old rescue cat who hates all treats. In the 2 years I’ve had her, she has turned up her nose to every treat I’ve tried. I got these and she’s in LOVE. She actually gets excited when I pull out the container and is anxiously awaiting getting the treats. I love that these don’t have all the extra garbage added to them too- so that’s a huge bonus. Looks like I’ll be regularly ordering these now! Thanks Chewy!
Great Taste per Leonardo DiCatrio

Leo loves the dried Bonito Flakes and repeatedly keeps going to the refrigerator and whining for more. They’re obviously unforgettable as he has continued this behavior. I do not foresee any decrease in this behavior in the near or remote future.
Most of the cats LOVE these treats

I have 5 cats so finding one treat that they ALL like/love is difficult. 4 out of 5 cats LOVE them - the one I bought them for (17 year old queen of the crew) looked at me and waited for me to give her something else (which I did). Meanwhile the 'kids' are totally enjoying these new treats. The only 'downside' is that they are REALLY thin - so if you have any breeze - they tend to fly away.
Bagheera loves them!

My cat has allergies to certain foods and can't eat most treats (we can't figure out what he's allergic to, though!). I got him these since they are one ingredient and they are working well! He loves them! They are very very stinky but worth it to have something tasty for a treat.

My cats love these. I add them to their meals when they are being picky and it gets them to eat. I love that it's just one ingredient so I know they aren't getting weird fillers.
My cats love them!

Normally I buy Tiki Cat bonito flakes from a local shop for my cats, but due to the lockdown and store closures I had to take my search online. This is a great value for the price, and my cats love them as a treat!
