Very good product, works great
This is the one bay unit that is just like the C200 which has two bays. A few differences are: The C100 has a 24 hr timer and the C200 has a 48 hr timer. The C200 allows for an ice pack. Both work very well. I especially like that a small veggie side dish (known in the "biz" as a monkey dish) fits inside well if I want to feed small quantity. Also that someone finally made the inside dish area rounded vs having squared corners where food can get caught. My cat is hyperthyroid and hungry all the time even on proper meds. She prefers wet food so I set her up with 3 small feedings overnight so I can get some rest. I use this one first and the ice pack unit for later. However, I do put the tray and the food can in the fridge before setting it out to keep it fresher for 4 hrs til it opens. Luna hears them open and goes flying off the bed to go see what we left her. I can highly suggest both this unit and the C200. A final note that these are now sometimes sold under the name "Closer Pets" even though you order Cat Mate. I believe that Closer Pets bought out Cat Mate. And yeah, there's a piece of treat in the dish in the pic, oh well.
Not what I expected
Bought this feeder to limit my cat’s food intake, but didn’t realize it only has a 24 hour timer, not a 7 day.
Haven’t used it enough yet but when I have it worked great.
Not precise AT ALL
I got this feeder to dispense supplements to my dog midday while I am at work. The timer is wildly imprecise and makes very little sound when it opens. I could not train my very smart, food motivated dog to use this feeder. It will not open at a specific time and the dial is not at all accurate so I could not set a separate timer to go off when the thing opened. My dog did not even hear the thing open when he was less than 3 feet away. Unfortunately, this just is not going to work for what we need it for. I would have to hope that he wanders by at some point after it opened, and he would not. Going to offer it for free on the buy nothing page.
