The Cat Mate C200 is designed to feed one or two cats, kittens or small dogs when you are away - during the day, evening or over the weekend. Food is kept fresh in two easy-clean compartments sealed by closely fitting lids, and cooled by a built-in ice pack. Just set the timer on each lid to open at the required time, up to 48 hours later.

Instructions
Especially for cats
We suggest you introduce your cat to its feeder by following the steps below:
- Place your cat's food in the food bowl without using the timer. (Try using his favorite food to encourage him to get used to the feeder.)
- When he seems happy eating in this way, place the unit in the position where he will find the food when you are away.
- Finally use the timing mechanism, but try not to watch over your cat - if he knows you're around he may wait for personal attention! If leaving your cat for a weekend, don't forget to make suitable toilet arrangements for it. Kittens should not be left alone for long periods without someone to check periodically that all is well.
Especially for dogs
Most small dogs will readily adapt to an automatic feeder, but you are recommended to supervise your dog's first few encounters to ensure that it is unlikely to damage the unit - which may be a problem with puppies. When leaving your dog, don't forget to make adequate toilet arrangements for it. Dogs, and particularly puppies, should not be left alone for long periods without someone to check periodically that all is well. For extra stability the feeder may be attached to a wooden base plate as follows:
- Remove food bowl(s). Break out the two molded-in retaining clips by inserting a screw into each hole and rocking from side to side.
- Place feeder in desired position on wooden board and replace clips in holes with the flat side of the clip uppermost. Screw clips to board in this position. c. Turn clip through 90 degrees to lock feeder to wooden base. Turn back through 90 degrees to unlock.
The C10 and C200 feeders are very easy to clean and normally only the bowls will require washing. The base unit, lids and lid lifting leavers can all be wiped with a soapy cloth. If required, lids may be removed for washing - simply pull out vertically from the base unit whilst pushing the lid upward using the finger cut-out at the rear of the lid molding. Make sure that the lids are fully pushed home on reassembly. Under no circumstances should the base unit be immersed in water.

Great for people with varying schedules!
As a grad student, I work during the day and have night classes at varying times. Having this feeder was life changing - no more waking up or coming home to a screaming cat who hasn't been fed. I set the feeder at night so it's set for the whole next day and it works great. I will note there have been a few times where one of the bowl's timers has not gone off, but this was fixed by replacing the battery.
Meets our needs
We had the older version of the feeder that lasted for years. I’m sorry Catmate isn’t selling them anymore. These feeders aren’t as solid and lids lay slightly forward when open. We haven’t used the timer yet but we’re waiting for our next overnight trip since one kitty is able to pry the lid open (she’s persistent and intelligent). We’ll buy two more after we test the timer.

Timer doesn't always open, don't know if I trust it to feed my boys while gone for a day. One time they don't open, the next time the left side opens and right doesn't.
Great for dogs too
The ice pack stays cold long enough for you to be at work all day. This is perfect if you want to feed your dog or cat during the day while you are away. I had found a couple times one side does not open for some reason when it is supposed to so that is why I am giving it 4 stars.
Perfect for us!
I got this because my cat would wake me up super early in the morning for food every day, even though he's on a schedule. I set it for the morning and for lunch time, since I'm at work from 8-5, and I just feed him dinner at night. I only use this with dry food, so I haven't used the cold pack. This is also great when I have to be away from home for a night because I only have to have someone come once a day to feed him dinner and give him some cuddles.

First time using this, it didn't work. Well half of it didn't work. One side does exactly what it's supposed to. I came home from my night shift to see that the other side didn't open so my poor guy was starving. I set the timer, it either goes all the way to zero or stops at 4 hours but the lid never pops open. The other dish works fine.
Automatic cat feeder lets me sleep!
My cat was waking me up at 6-6:30 a.m. for food. I don't need to get up so early. This little device allows me to put her breakfast in the bowl, using the ice pack underneath, and I can set the timer the night before and sleep in!

I tried the feeder today for the first time. It was a trial to see if it does what it says. I work two nights a week and can't come home until way past my two kitties' dinner time. I was very pleased to see that it does what it says. I will not be worried about my furry children getting their dinner when the like. I highly recommend this product. I feel like it is worth the money to give me a piece of mind.

The cat rescue I work with - Feral Friends Community Alliance - has this for a pair of cats who gobble their food. It works great, is easy to clean and the cats had no trouble accepting it. I purchased one for my cat when I go on vacation to allow my cat watcher to make just one visit a day. I love that it has an ice pack with it.
