    My cat Pickle loves this fountain! We switched to an all-dry diet recently so I wanted to make sure she was getting enough fluids. It took her about a week to adjust to the fountain but now she can't get enough! It is whisper-quiet and the adjustable pump speed is nice. I have to refill this about every other day, given loss due to evaporation and the high use that it gets. I would definitely recommend something larger if you have more than one cat. So far after about a month of use this seems reliable. I have recommended this to one person who has also bought it for their cat. I'm a fan! … more

    Probably better for a cat that doesn’t drink much

    My daughter purchased this in November for my dog who is 35 pounds and this is what we experienced from it. I would hear a whirring sound and figured out that it was coming from that machine. There was water in it but it was not completely up to the top fill line. I would hear a whirring sound and figured out that it was coming from that machine. There was water in it but it was not completely up to the top fill line. So I would add some water and the sound would stop. I would hear the sound almost daily which was very annoying and I thought possibly the motor was gonna burn up so I unplugged it after a while. I took it apart and there was black sludge and chunks of what look like black dirt or charcoal through the water. I was upset to think that my dog was drinking this. I switched back to a conventional bowl that has a water vessel on top that puts fresh water into the bowl nothing to plug-in. … more
