Rated 2 out of 5 by Cats won't touch new formula I've been using this for a long time. Just opened a bag of the new formula. Looks and smells different. My cats will not eat it. They just keep rubbing on the can hoping I will give them their old food back. Back to researching cat food. October 18, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by It's a very healthy food Unfortunately, my two cats wouldn't eat it. It has amazing ingredients - so I'm very sad they are so picky. October 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My cat surprisingly likes this more than the Canadian formula After seeing so many bad reviews for the new Kentucky formulas of Orijen and Acana, I was hesitant to try the new formulas. My cat LOVES the Canadian formula of Orijen, and it's the first dry food that he actually enjoys eating (and he's tried over 10 different ones in his lifetime!). He also like Acana, but not as much as Orijen. I have always gotten Acana Grasslands for him because it's a different flavor that Orijen doesn't offer. He has noticeably softer and shinier coat from eating Orijen or Acana, and more energy to run around the house. Of the new Kentucky formulas, we tried Appalachian Ranch which is Acana's version of Orijen Regional Red. He ate it, but he didn't love it. I think the difference might be that Appalachian Ranch is mainly beef-based, where as Regional Red is wild boar. I noticed that my cat tends to like game meats more. So when I saw that the new formula for Acana Grasslands now has quail and goat added, I was curious. We tried it and he likes it. I would even say that I think he likes it more than the Canadian formula of Grasslands. I like that the kibble isn't as wide and flat as the Canadian formula. It was an awkward shape for my cat and he was constantly pushing kibble out of his bowl while trying to pick it up with his mouth. When put in the same bowl with Orijen Regional Red, he eats this first! My cat loves lamb & duck so this was a winner for us, but I wouldn't recommend this flavor if you cat isn't into game meats. Rated 5 out of 5 by Wow what a difference in my cats My very young cats were on a dry "name brand" cat food and they ate a lot of it. I switched to Acana and they eagerly ate all of it. However, volume-wise they eat a lot less of this food than "name brand" (much cheaper) food because Acana is a higher quality food and they need less. It may even be cheaper in the long-run since they need so much less of this higher quality food. They are only a year old, but I still see a tremendous difference in their coats and energy. I suppose I was one of those who didn't want to spend this much on cat food, but I am not sorry and will continue to buy it. I assumed wrongly that popular-advertised-name brands were just as good, but after my research that caused me to try Acana, I have proven to myself (a tough consumer) that is simply not true. Thank you Acana for a great (not just "good") product. August 15, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by In trial New food for this guy still under review, however anytime you can give your pet pure food without a lot of this and that do it, lost my other kitty to kidney disease and will never be sure it was not the food that I was feeding him, will try anything to do the best for this new little guy....
