Just like you, your cat or kitten is a unique individual and her feeding requirements will vary with breed, environment, age and activity. Use this chart as a starting point, and monitor your cat or kitten’s weight, adjusting amounts as needed. Feed her twice daily and always keeping fresh, clean water available.

Post weaning feed kittens 1/4 cup per pound of body weight. At 20 weeks, decrease feeding to 1/8 cup per pound of body weight. Start adult feeding guide by 52 weeks. During gestation increase feeding amount by 25 percent. During lactation free feed.

Transition Instructions

When switching diets, it’s important to transition your cat or kitten as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5 - 7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA.

  • Only food I can find that doesn't contain CHICKEN!!!

    By on

I have been looking for a food for my cat who has digestive issues and a sensitivity to many foods. I finally spent the extra money and tried Acana Grasslands. This food combined with Fortiflora(probiotic) seems to have made a real difference. It's only been a few months, but so far so good.

  • A Great Supplement

    By on

High quality ingredients and exceptional taste; my 3 cats love it. We use it as a supplement to high quality canned food in a rotation diet.

  • Picture perfect ingredients

    By on

I can't complain about even one ingredient in this food, they nailed it. I've been so picky about each individual ingredient down to every oil used and why. But they are just so expensive I can no longer afford to pay the prices for my cats. It's most unfortunate because I did research for weeks before I decided on acana. I will still recommend acana to anyone who's in the market for the perfect at kibble.

  • Love this!

    By on

I've been on the market for a perfect dry cat food. this stuff hits the mark! No pointless oils, just the best ingredients and plenty of animal proteins. I had one cat who was over weight and one cat who was under weight and both of them have had dry skin problems throughout the winter and this food fixed everything. Both cats are at a fantastic weight and their coats and skin are amazing! I would recommend this food to anyone!

  • cats loved it

    By on Top 25 Contributor

I added this to my cats' rotation and they really enjoyed it, no upturned noses or tummy issues. I really trust this brand and I like that they're getting different protein sources than they usually do.

  • Great cat food

    By on

Before this food one of them would occasionally vomit and the other one had tons of hairballs. Since we switched about 5 months or so ago the vomiter has maybe done so like once or twice and the one with the hairballs has had very few hairballs. I've also noticed an increase in their energy levels. They also love the taste of this food and I love that acana uses great ingredients.

  • FORMULA CHANGE cats wont touch it.

My cats used to love this food. Now they won't touch it. Too bad you can't buy the old formula through chewy.

  • Acana dry Kitten food

    By on

I read a lot of articles about different dry cat foods and settled on Acana due to ingredients and lack of recalls. All locally sourced near Kentucky plant, no foreign adulterants, Kitten took to it right away, so far so good, would be 5 stars but a 12lb bag is 1 penny from being free shipping!!!Really?
