Just like you, your cat or kitten is a unique individual and her feeding requirements will vary with breed, environment, age and activity. Use this chart as a starting point, and monitor your cat or kitten’s weight, adjusting amounts as needed. Feed her twice daily and always keeping fresh, clean water available.

Post weaning feed kittens 1/4 cup per pound of body weight. At 20 weeks, decrease feeding to 1/8 cup per pound of body weight. Start adult feeding guide by 52 weeks. During gestation increase feeding amount by 25 percent. During lactation free feed.

Transition Instructions

When switching diets, it’s important to transition your cat or kitten as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA.

  • The best coat and full of energy

    By on

My cat had problems with her stomach and every time she went to the bathroom she had some blood. Her doc said it was due to the sensitivity of her stomach. I have found food to reduce it, but my love looked terrible. I switched to ACANA. Now she is receiving complements for having beautiful coat every time she appears on my social media. She looks healthier and has more energy. Also she loves the taste and very often I find her bowl empty.

  • My cats love it!

    By on

My three indoor cats love this food and it's healthy! They tend to love dry food but I know a steady diet of dry isn't the best for them so I give it to them in small doses betweenthe wet. The outdoor cats prefer wet food and often leave this in the bowl. I will definitely reorder!

We have 2 kittens who are 10 weeks old. We have always fed our dogs Acana so wanted to do the same with them. They love it! Bites are small and they're growing well. Completely trust Acana for nourishment.

  • Smells Terrible

    By on

I decided to try a bag of this because of all the great reviews and since my other cat food is no longer being carried by Chewy. It has a horrible pungent odor and my 3 cats are not taking to it well. I won't be purchasing again.

  • Best food for cats !

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

So it won't be that expensive I mix 1/2 and 1/2 with speciality brand or cheaper brand depending on cat needs. Cats stay slim, glossy coat and love eating the food.

  • acana dry cat food

    By on

i purchased this brand, because of the ingredients, not sure how my cats feel about it, they eat it only because it is mixed with their current food. Have to get back with you. It's a bit expensive, but it's a higher grade food.

  • Great product, great service from Chewy!

    By on

My cats, two Birmans, fell in love with this cat food when they tried samples of it. Both have very delicate stomachs and have been on prescription cat food. Read the ingredients and you'll see this is a quality product. As always, Chewy never disappoints...great product at a great price with great service!

  • Good simple pure food

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

I still use Orijins, but my cats love this too. I got it to give them a break from a steady diet of Orijin dry. Both Acana and Orijins h have a powerful smell which I think attracts the cats. My cats are both soft and dry food eaters. Recommend you get an airtight storage container for the bulk of it, and glass jars for smaller quantities for daily dispensing. This keeps the smell down, and keeps the food fresh.
