  • I'll be honest...

One of the reasons that caused me to try this brand is the cute picture of the girl hugging her cat and the cat with a more or less nonchalant look stereotypical of many cats. Besides that, the ingredients look good. I do wish there's more variety packs in canned shape - pouches are difficult and I can't justify buying 24 of the same flavor since my cats won't eat the same dinner two nights in a row.

  • My Claire LOVES this!

    By on

Ive tried several different types of canned food with Claire, and I can always count on her devouring her BFF. I feed her Wellness hairball control dry in the morning, then mix a half can with whatever is left in her bowl in the evening...its rare for there to be anything left in the morning!

  • They eat this like the Walkers on TWD!

We just had to switch our four kitties, ranging in age from 2 to almost 15, to a canned food diet because our 8-year-old boy Orion is severely obese (24.3 lbs). His blood work and urinalysis showed no signs of disease, so we must deduce he has an absurdly slow metabolism. Our vet recommended that a switch to canned food and removal of grazing opportunities would help him lose weight quickly. Since I despise the ingredients in Hill's prescription diets, we went with BFF. Oh my - the kitties are in food heaven! We feed them twice daily, 1/2 can per kitty at each meal, and you'd think a horde of Zombies had descended on a delicious human being. • It's just OK

My two ultra-picky cats have a "meh" reaction to this food. One will eat it because she knows I'm not going to give her anything else, the other will have a nibble or two and then walk away. There is one flavor in this variety pack they won't eat at all unless they're practically starving, I can't recall which one-- sorry. They do both like the pumpkin one though. It seems to be a quality food, but my cats don't really care for it all that much.

  • Pumpkin? Really?

    By on

I selected this item based on its high protein content. Our cat loves all the varieties in the pack. I could live without feeding her pumpkin bits ( cats being obligate carnivores) but overall it's good food. Be advised that a couple of the varieties are kind of soupy, so you'll want to have a spoon handy to dish it out, rather than a fork. I also wish the company would make the food available in larger cans to reduce packaging.

  • Makes my Cat Very Happy!!

    By on

This food is amazing. I started using it about a month ago and since then my cat has been more energetic, happier, sheds less, and overall just seems to be healthier. This food is easy to put on the plate and my cat really loves it.

  • My kitties new Best Friend - FOREVER!

I have 4 cats all under 6 (2 are kittens), and this is by far their favorite wet food. I feed a wide variety of quality wet foods so they don't get used to just one brand. For all wet food, I divide a 3-oz can among them all, so it's more of a treat than a staple. (I feed them mostly dry food.) They can tell before it hits their bowls that "this is the GOOD STUFF!" They leave nothing behind, and it's not because it's such a small amount, either. There are other wet foods in the same portion sizes that they will taste but walk away from. Also, I don't cater to them - if they don't like something, fine, but they know I won't just change it out that day for something else, so for them to walk I have 4 cats all under 6 (2 are kittens), and this is by far their favorite wet food. Not so with BFF. They are wild about it. I read reviews before diving in and hesitated because some customers complained about the strong smell (esp of the tuna), but it's not an issue for me. After all, what do you want - it's DEFINITELY tuna - no mistake about that! I like that when you open it, it looks like actual meat, and my cats are crazy for it. Happy kitties, happy mama! … more

  • gross but cats love it

    By on

This stuff reeks like chum and doesn't look very appetizing either, but my cats get very happy whenever I open a can of any of the flavours in this variety box. They usually don't like aspic but they'll even eat that with this food. I don't give my cats much fish so it's nice that the only box of fishy food I buy in my orders has a nice little variety, and it has never made my cats throw up which is uncommon for gravy or brothy rich foods. One of my cats usually takes his time to pick through any food with pumpkin in it and scoots the pumpkin shreds to the side, but he will eat it with this food because he inhales it so fast.

  • Pouches are better for MY kitty

    By on

I had thought that changing from pouches two cans would give me the same product; just a different container. I have learned that the consistency of the canned food is quite different from the pouch. My cat turns his nose up at 30% of the canned food due to its consistency. My cat leaves behind the large chunks of whatever meat there is on the plate. So I'm going back to the pouches even with the possibility of there being damage in-freight (which has happened).

  • My Cats Don't Like These

    By on

I bought these because they are in the smaller 3 oz. cans. I was looking for something that my finicky skinny runt will eat and share with her sister. I have found she does like a couple of the flavors of the BFF Food pouches so I thought I would try these out from the same company. I prefer cans for when I go out of town and my pet feeder comes to feed them. The pouches seem to be more work to get the food out of. Unfortunately NEITHER of my cats liked any of these and I went through one can of each flavor. I will try them all again but if I can't get them to eat them I will donate them to our local animal shelter.
