Description

Blue Buffalo Naturally Fresh Quick-Clumping Cat Litter offers pet parents incredible odor control and long-lasting absorbency. It's so absorbent that one bag is equal to three bags of the leading clay litter. Made from a proprietary blend of the fibrous materials found in the walnut shell, this litter neutralizes litter box odors better than clay, pine and wheat. It produces harder clumps than pine, corn or wheat, making clean-up simple and mess-free. Unlike clay litters which throw off silica dust, Blue's Naturally Fresh is virtually dust-free so you and your cat can breathe easy. And because it doesn’t stick to your cat’s paws, it won’t be tracked throughout your house.

  • Better than World's Best

We have been using all natural litter forever - first Swheat Scoop (too light and messy), then pine pellets (the cats played with them) and for the past several years, World's Best Cat Litter. Last week my son - who is in charge of litter box maintenance - decided to try this brand. We have 4 cats who use 3 huge litterboxes in our cellar, which they access through a pet door cut through the cellar door. Their boxes are directly under where I sit at my desk, and I always knew when they'd been neglected for a couple of days because even with WBCL, the odor would come up through the heat/AC vent near my desk, and when I looked downstairs they would have pooped outside the box. What a surprise to find that there is no odor at all with this product, and the cats took to it immediately. Much more economical, also. The brown color was unusual, but what else would you expect from walnut shells? Scooping is no problem though, despise the color camouflage. Planning on continuing with this brand as long as it works this well for us. … more

  • I wish I discoverd this sooner

I have a 7 yr old cat and was using Arm & Hammer litter. It worked good except that it would stick to the bottom and I had to scrape with a spatula. I would wear out 2 litter pans a year. Plus it would really began to stink. Stopped by a local pet shop and asked about using a different litter and she showed me this. I mix it 50/50 with the clay litter. It is super absorbent, locks in odor and doesn't stick to the bottom. Using it with the other litter gives me almost no wasted litter. Instead of a heavy bag after cleaning, I just get what doesn't belong. Great product.

  • A great alternative litter

I'm a long time user of World's Best Kitty Litter, but recently wanted to explore options that were more cost effective. I tried Dr. Esley's after someone recommended it. I enjoyed that it was low dust, but it was very heavy, and I didn't like that it was clay. On to the next. I was eager to try Blue Buffalo's Naturally Fresh because the price point was right and it's made from walnuts. It's got a bit of a strange odor to it (because of the walnuts) and the color takes a minute to get used to (it's dark brown), but it's light, low dust and sustainable. My only complaint is that it doesn't clump very well. • Good product, would recommend it.

We have used this litter for a long time now and have been very satisfied with it. The company claims it's dust free but that is untrue it does create dust but not as bad as clay litter. The dark brown color can make it a little difficult to see where to scoop. Tracking is minimal. The price is also attractive at $19 for 26 pounds. A friend mixes this with World's Best litter and that combination of half-and-half keeps the dust down very well, doesn't track much and smells fresh. If you can afford to buy both brands' 26 pound bags and mix, that would be optimal.

  • Great odor control. Poor urine clumping.

    By on

I have a sphynx and they are notorious for having smelly business. The walnuts are fantastic at covering up the odor. My room did not smell like kitty. The downside is the urine clumps fall apart when you are scooping and sifting. This leads to a not so clean litter box. Also the smell of walnuts and urine is pretty gross when cleaning but its not too terrible for me. *I combine half of this walnut litter and half of okocat wood clumping cat litter , it mixes well.

  • Struggling with staying with this product

    By on

Love the idea it's healthier which is why I changed. We've been using it for a year but it tracks worse than anything I've used in the 30 years I've been gifted with sharing my life with cats. And yes there is a textured 4 ft rug in front of litter box. It's tracked into the hall, in the bathroom, in the bedroom, it's everywhere. I bought a Shark dust buster and as long as I vacuum twice a day it's bearable, but who has time to do this? The litter box is in a small corner in my study and also leaves a fine coat of red dust on every book and shelf on that side of the room. Other than that it's great. <sarcasm> Won't return to chemical based so will tolerate until I find another healthy alternative Love the idea it's healthier which is why I changed. • Better product

    By on

I used to purchase the multi-cat brand of the naturally Fresh cat litter. It did not clump together and I had to change the cat litter sometimes twice weekly. This was too much work for serving my 8 pound cat.The Quick Clumping product is working better. I will stay with it.

  • Best litter ever used!

    By on

Naturally Fresh Walnut Shell litter is not only quick clumping, there is little to virtually no tracking. I have a light colored rug under open litter box and it remains clean after my cat's use. It is the best litter I have ever used. It lasts longer than others, as well.

  • Clumps Fall Apart

    By on

I switched to this type of litter because the dust from clay litter was getting everywhere and I felt it affected my breathing. I am a huge fan of Blue Buffalo food and treats and love that everything of theirs is all natural which was a huge selling point for me with this litter, but it does not clump easily at all. When scooping, the clumps fall apart completely. I will probably continue using this because, while there is some dust, it doesn't cause the coughing and difficulty breathing that clay litter does. If the formula could be improved to actually form solid clumps, it would be a HUGE help.
