Description

Blue Buffalo Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat Quick-Clumping Cat Litter offers pet parents incredible odor control and long-lasting absorbency. It's so absorbent, it takes less litter to get the job done, which means each bag goes a lot farther and less is wasted. Made from a proprietary blend of the fibrous materials found in the walnut shell, this litter neutralizes litter box odors better than clay, pine and wheat. It produces harder clumps than pine, corn and wheat in as little as 15 minutes, making clean-up simple and mess-free. Unlike clay litters which throw off silica dust, Blue's Naturally Fresh is virtually dust-free so you and your cat can breathe easy. And because it doesn’t stick to your cat’s paws, it won’t be tracked throughout your house.

  • OK but not great

    By on

I have been testing litters over the past 6 months, trying to find something better than World's Best Multi-Cat. Turns out World's Best stands up to its name. Blue Buffalo Naturally Fresh came the closest to competing but it didn't quite cut the mustard. The odor-control is not good (pee or poop) and despite many claims, it does, in fact, track. The trackings look like mouse turds too so its quite unpleasant. It does remain light and absorbent in the pan and it clumps well. One bag lasts a while too so it is relatively cost effective. Still, going back to WB...

  • Great cat litter, but..

This brand of cat litter works great for my two adult cats. However, the odor control with this particular formula isn't amazing, that's why I'm rating it 4 stars. Right after one of my two cats poop in the litter box, the smell begins to fill part of the room. The scented litter of this brand probably works better than just the multi-cat litter of this brand, once I try it I plan to write a review on it as well. Though, on the side note, this litter clumps really well. Chewy.com delivers it to me with fast, free-shipping. Chewy.com is my favorite place to get all of our pet supplies, I highly recommend it.

  • Half the cost of Blue Buffalo Dry Cat Food

    By on

One of my cats has asthma so I was looking for a cat litter that clumped, but did not contain silica. I read about the corn and wheat based litters getting moldy. But, the BB walnut shell based litter sounded promising and the cost at that time was less than $11.00 for a 26 pound bag. So, I took a chance. The litter clumps just fine. It's not the same as clay litter, but in some ways better because it doesn't stick to the bottom of the litter box like concrete. The litter is about half the weight of clay litter, so your litter box is not as heavy when full. This litter is not nearly as dusty as clay litter, but there is some dust. Half of my cats are fine with the BB litter. The other half won't have anything to do with it. So, I still have litter boxes with clay litter. My asthmatic cat has her own box using BB. I believe it helps. At $11.00 for 26 lbs. I loaded up and have a 2 year supply for her. But, at the current cost you would think this cat litter is made from BB dry cat food and not walnut shells. I really hope a competitor comes out with their own walnut shell cat litter in the next two years. I would hate to pay almost a dollar a pound for what is otherwise used for media blasting, compost or ends up in a landfill. … more

  • THIS LITTER SMELLS

    By on

A coworker had recommended this litter very highly. It is lighter and easier to lift and sift through. However, the urine doesn't clump, just disappears as you're mining for lumps. It looks like coffee grounds on our rental's dreaded cream-colored carpet. Worstly, though, the litter itself has a strong odor. Add in some urine and doody, and you're in trouble. I had to scoop constantly with 2 cats so that it wouldn't fester for even 10 minutes. I'm going back to Fresh Step with Febreeze. It's downright pleasant compared to BB Naturally Fresh Walnut-Based...

  • Blue Buffalo Walnut Cat Litter

    By on

I totally adore this product. The reason I adore it so much is because my sensitive cat likes it a lot. He has not been able to go outside for years and he never liked regular cat litter, so he always had problems going to the bathroom in regular cat litter. The first time I poured this into his cat box, he eyes lit up and he almost immediately hopped into his litter box. He was so excited to be scratching into something that looked like dirt. Many thanks to all for making my cat happier.

  • Confused by all the good reviews

    By on

I had high hopes for this litter based on the good reviews. I've been trying various litters in an attempt to address my cat's allergies. So, I thought I'd be doing the planet better and reducing any potential litter dust by using this one. However, after one night of it being in the litter box, my cat's white paws were brown with litter dust and it was tracked all over my house. It looked like coffee grounds in my carpet. I had to replace it immediately with a different kind. I'm glad it works so well for others, but I won't be buying this again.

I can not stress the benefits of using this product over traditional cat litters with silica dust and chemicals. Its amazing that this simple product is so perfect for all pets with delicate respiratory systems not just cats. Is a environmentally friendly and safe pet product. Super awesome product! When you open the bag there is no odor to speak of. It pours out quickly and has a dark chocolate color and granules that remind you of granola cereal. NO Dust!!! Is fine texture and would not cause any problems with sensitive paws. Clumps nicely for easy waste removal. I received these goodies free of charge from Chewy.com in an exchange for my honest review but will happily purchase this I can not stress the benefits of using this product over traditional cat litters with silica dust and chemicals. • Love Blue Buffalo Litter

    By on

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Blue Buffalo's litter. I didn't think I would like the walnut-based litter but it is awesome. It clumps better than the leading brand and no odor for a long time. Just a quick tip: If you are going to change and begin to use the walnut-based litter, add it in gradually with the litter you are currently using. Some cats need to get used to it as it is different. But, I think you will love it. And, I can't say enough about Chewy.com. Their the best!!!!!

  • Best. Cat. Litter. Ever.

    By on

This is biodegradable, clumps quickly and tightly, has a low dust factor, and is super lightweight. Our cats track a little bit out of the box which looks like ground coffee on the floor, but at least you know it's just Walnut shells. This IS an expensive litter, but Chewy.com has the cheapest price by far and you do end up using less than traditional clay litter so it will be worth it in the end for both your wallet and your cats health.

  • Didn't love it at first

When trying to switch to a new litter, it is always recommended that you mix your current litter with some of the new. When I did this, mixing Tidy Cats with the Blue Buffalo, the amount of dust from the combination of the two was three times what I had ever experienced. It was repulsive. I was convinced that people were crazy and the Blue Buffalo wasn't going to last long in my house. Well, once I changed the litter to all Blue Buffalo, I realized that somehow, the ridiculous dust was caused by the combination of the two litters. Don't ask me how, but I don't have the problem anymore. I have 5 cats. I have 4 boxes upstairs and one in the basement. In each room, I have one box of regular litter and the other is the Blue Buffalo. I'm still in the experimental stages to make sure none of the cats are offended by the new stuff and make the choice to not use a box at all. So far, there seems to be about equal usage of the new versus the old. As far as smell goes, I haven't had any problems. I think it does as well as the Tidy Cats, but without the offensive perfume smell. It clumps differently than the clay, but I don't think it's "worse", just different. I love how much lighter the BB is and it definitely doesn't track nearly as much as the clay. I'm happy with this stuff. … more
