Description

Blue Buffalo Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat Quick-Clumping Cat Litter offers pet parents incredible odor control and long-lasting absorbency. It's so absorbent, it takes less litter to get the job done, which means each bag goes a lot farther and less is wasted. Made from a proprietary blend of the fibrous materials found in the walnut shell, this litter neutralizes litter box odors better than clay, pine and wheat. It produces harder clumps than pine, corn and wheat in as little as 15 minutes, making clean-up simple and mess-free. Unlike clay litters which throw off silica dust, Blue's Naturally Fresh is virtually dust-free so you and your cat can breathe easy. And because it doesn’t stick to your cat’s paws, it won’t be tracked throughout your house.

  • Inconsistent quality from bag to bag

    By on

I have been using this for about 8 months, but the last several bags have had a lot of variability in quality. Sometimes, the granules are large, dark brown, clump very well, control odor, and are virtually dust free. I have had 3 bags now where the granules are much finer, very dusty, and a light brown - these did not clump well at all, and noticeable dust puffed up when I went to scoop. My (white) cat also has been coming out with a fine dusting of brown all over, and has been sneezing after using the litter box. The odor control was also poorer for the dusty/light colored granules. I am switching to another brand, because this is very expensive, and I expect the batches to be consistent.

  • Best Litter I've Ever Found

    By on

I am a single person in a house full of cats. I currently have 4, but have had as many as 6 indoors at a time. I had to switch from standard sand clumping litter because one of my boys developed issues. I tried the newspaper, the wheat and the corn based litters. I tried the one that claimed to be the best in the world. I wasn't impressed. A vet tech friend of mine suggested this as it was new on the market. I never looked back. No bad odors. Less dust. Organic, so no chemicals to react badly. The one drawback is it will stain white paws. But hey, I'm ok with that as long as we all stay healthy. I find I did use less than the sand type litter. So, I think it is more economical. Let Chewy I am a single person in a house full of cats. I currently have 4, but have had as many as 6 indoors at a time. • Cuts down workload

We have 4 cats now, and, much as I love them, I really didn't plan to spend my retirement cleaning cat pans and monitoring cat interactions. This litter really does last longer than others, adsorbs odors quickly altho maybe not instantly, and so I have decided the price works out to be about the same as regular litter. I've noticed that some batches are a little dustier than others, but still not much. Also, an un-neutered male cat's urine is a challenge for any litter, even this one. The odor does diminish over time, but best to scoop that pee out soon! And neuter! True that the pee "cakes" can crumble a bit, but not enough to discourage me from buying this litter. Stirring the litter after scooping also seems to help dissipate any odors. AND I recently learned that clay is often strip-mined. So this is a good choice for the environment too. And now I have hope that I can do other things in my retirement besides change cat pans... … more

  • BB Cat litter

We are still switching over from another litter brand. We were using a clay litter. While it did clump, it didn't really absorb the odors. I read an article recommending the Blue Buffalo and thought we'd give it a try. It wasn't as expensive as some of the other brands and I like the walnut. It's not as dusty and I don't notice the litter box smell as before. It clumps, though the clumps aren't as big as the old brand so it should last longer.

  • Not Sure If It's a Keeper

    By on

I'm on the fence about this litter. I like that it's better for the environment, and my two cats are using it with no problem. However, it doesn't clump quite as well as Dr. Elsey's Ultra clay litter. The brown color is more unsightly than clay when it gets thrown outside the box and it makes the "solids" in the box difficult to find. I haven't tried recycled newspaper or crystals yet. I will probably try something different next time.

  • Great for controlling odor; not so great for tracking

    By on

I tried this litter based on others' reviews stating it did not track as much as regular litter. In my experience, it tracks just as badly. It was tracked all over the place. This was disappointing but I would recommend it for its ability to control odors. Unlike with regular litter, I can't smell the litter box even if it has been used multiple times by my cat. And it clumps very well for easy scooping.

  • Awesome alternative litter!

    By on

So neither of my cats are picky when I️t comes to their litter boxes. I decided to just dump their old litter (yesterday's news) and go for I️t. The kitten hopped right in and did his business and then big bro decided to test I️t out too with no issues. I waited a bit to scoop as I read that I️t can take a bit for the clumps to harden and dang! They were rock solid! I have noticed a bit of dust when shaking the scooper to sift, but that's not a big deal. Oh! And the smell is different. Very earthy but I noticed that I️t really does help eliminate urine and fecal odors!

  • I'll never use anything else!

    By on

Yes, it tracks- but its nothing a good litter mat and a dustbuster wont fix. Clumping happens at bottom level so you do have to scoop daily- but it doesnt adhere to the litter pan in a nasty cement mess like clay. The smell- is down right delightful. Actually truely plesant smelling. Shockingly so. There is zero foul odor. Just earthy and a little sweet. My cat was diagnosed with Kidney disease and I needed to find a litter that would hold up to her massive output since starting daily SubQ fluids. She has 2 boxes in the house with this. She had some outside the box issues with clay litter. NOT ANYMORE!! I really could not be happier about this litter.

  • Best Litter Ever

    By on

A friend recommended this litter to us and we decided to try it. It is amazing! You can't smell any cat odor. With the other leading brand-name clumping litter, you could smell the cat odor. We have a multi-cat household and this is perfect. And, it seems to last longer than the other brand. It is also lightweight. I can't just say enough good things about it.
