by Cupcake Great consistency
I have a Chiwawa that's allergic to everything! Finally finding a canned affordable dog food that is a 97% meat product is great… This fits the bill…

Rated 5 out of 5 by Debsheka Thankful for this product!
I have a 14 year old papillon that has severe allergies. So severe she cannot receive any shots or medications of any kind. She is on a hydrolized dry dog food diet. Basically a vegan only option. No treats of any kind.
I had a allergy panel done years ago and her lowest food allergen was venison. Because she had grown very tired of only eating one thing I thought I would try this food and see if she could handle it.
It turned out to be a game changer for her. Not only does it agree with her system, she loves it!
I cannot thank the manufacturers enough for this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maltipoo Venison Makes a Great Topper
My dog prefers this to the Canine Caviar Canned Duck. This venison product also smells much better. It kinda smells like beef, actually, and is not as overpowering as the canned duck. This product is for supplemental feeding so I mix it with the corresponding kibble from Canine Caviar and she will eat much more of the Venison/Wilderness combo than the Duck/Open Sky when we rotate. There is no difficulty transitioning between the products and her stools are solid and near odorless on this product.
We have tried other canned foods as well and she much prefers this brand to the others. She also prefers this to Fresh Pet, which I always had to top with a liver topper (yes, I'm trained).
All the cans we received from Chewy were in fine shape. No dented cans here and well packaged.
The only reservation I have of this product is that it is canned by Evangers under private label (obviously, with Canine Caviar being a boutique brand, they don't actually manufacture their own food). Evangers also has their own canned game meats, but just at a cheaper price, which makes me wonder if it pretty much the same product with just a different label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RayC Specialty Product in Quantity!
One of our beagles has IBD and needs to be on single protein, non-poultry based food. After she rejected the prescription food suggested by the Vet we talked with a canine nutritionist who recommended Canine Caviar. Issue - It's expensive and only carried local in very limited quantities. But she ate it!! A friend recommended Chewy's and now we are simply waiting to see how long a case lasts in order to get on a routine shipping plan. BTW, Chewy's is almost $1.00 less per can...which isn't anything to sneeze at!!! The product that arrived from Chewy's was clearly well packed, the cans were in good shape and looked new. The shipping took 3 days!!! Good to know we can get this in quantity and quality!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mary50 Our picky dog loves it!
Recently we found out that our 115 lb. Akita is allergic to just about all kinds of food &, in addition, he's a very picky eater. This product is on his very short list of approved foods & he loves it! He gobbled it down the first time & has been looking forward to it ever since. Since there's no filler in it, he seems to be pooping a lot less & I did see a comment that someone had to add fiber to their dog's diet but our guy seems to be fine so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Grateful Canine Caviar Venison is wonderful!
Our German Shepherd has had many skin problems previously, including seasonal allergies. I started him on Canine Caviar dry food in December 2013 and added Canine Caviar canned food some months later. All the proteins I "thought" he was allergic to have been proven NOT true with any Canine Caviar, both dry and canned. I read a review recently regarding the canned food that stated it didn't keep well in the refrigerator; it would become "hard as a rock". This is only because of the oil/fat in the food that it becomes solidified when it's cold. All you do is take out a small portion that you are going to add to the dry food, add a small portion of water to it, place in microwave for 12-15 seconds, and your food is perfect to be mixed in with the dry food. One thing I have found for my 10 year old Shepherd is he is needing to have more fiber than any of the Canine Caviar can offer for him. I place a Tbsp. of Psyllium fiber in with the canned food and water, after microwaving, mix with the dry, and his bowel movements are perfect! Our dog loves and has done well with ALL the Canine Caviar dry and canned proteins we've tried. He seems to really enjoy all the variety and has never done better with health and skin issues since beginning Canine Caviar.
