Canine Caviar 96% Venison Grain-Free Canned Dog Food is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Venison Makes a Great Topper My dog prefers this to the Canine Caviar Canned Duck. This venison product also smells much better. It kinda smells like beef, actually, and is not as overpowering as the canned duck. This product is for supplemental feeding so I mix it with the corresponding kibble from Canine Caviar and she will eat much more of the Venison/Wilderness combo than the Duck/Open Sky when we rotate. There is no difficulty transitioning between the products and her stools are solid and near odorless on this product. We have tried other canned foods as well and she much prefers this brand to the others. She also prefers this to Fresh Pet, which I always had to top with a liver topper (yes, I'm trained). All the cans we received from Chewy were in fine shape. No dented cans here and well packaged. The only reservation I have of this product is that it is canned by Evangers under private label (obviously, with Canine Caviar being a boutique brand, they don't actually manufacture their own food). Evangers also has their own canned game meats, but just at a cheaper price, which makes me wonder if it pretty much the same product with just a different label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canine Caviar Venison is wonderful! Our German Shepherd has had many skin problems previously, including seasonal allergies. I started him on Canine Caviar dry food in December 2013 and added Canine Caviar canned food some months later. All the proteins I "thought" he was allergic to have been proven NOT true with any Canine Caviar, both dry and canned. I read a review recently regarding the canned food that stated it didn't keep well in the refrigerator; it would become "hard as a rock". This is only because of the oil/fat in the food that it becomes solidified when it's cold. All you do is take out a small portion that you are going to add to the dry food, add a small portion of water to it, place in microwave for 12-15 seconds, and your food is perfect to be mixed in with the dry food. One thing I have found for my 10 year old Shepherd is he is needing to have more fiber than any of the Canine Caviar can offer for him. I place a Tbsp. of Psyllium fiber in with the canned food and water, after microwaving, mix with the dry, and his bowel movements are perfect! Our dog loves and has done well with ALL the Canine Caviar dry and canned proteins we've tried. He seems to really enjoy all the variety and has never done better with health and skin issues since beginning Canine Caviar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Dogs with allergies My dog is allergic to chicken, turkey and beef. This is the only canned food that I can find that is pure venison. I checked a couple of the other brands "holiday stews" but they contain chicken or eggs. My dog LOVES this food. I mix it with some cooked white potatoes and Canine Caviar dry food. Everyone should check the ingredients on their dogs food. This brand has the fewest and purest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Moist Food My dog has to be on a one protein diet because of perianal fistula so I have her on venison and this canned food is great. She loves it and it mixes well with her dry food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Quality! I am very particular about what I feed my 3 cats and little toy poodle. This food meets my high standards which is saying a lot. Two of my 3 cats love venison and took to this immediately. The texture is like a coarse pate with the perfect amount of moisture that make it easy to serve and for them to eat without any mess. I will continue to buy this. I find the price and service unbeatable here at Chewy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Food, but leftovers do not keep well in Fridge Canine Caviar is a good brand and both my dogs are on variations of the dry. The canned food I got for a picky senior as a mix-in with his dry. He loves the food. The only problem I have this stuff is that it does not do well in the refrigerator - it gets as hard as concrete (it's also a bit stinky, though the dogs don't seem to mind). Other than that, very good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Helping relieve dry itchy skin for my dog Recently my dog has suffered with flaky, itchy skin. Wondering i if it might be a reaction to her food, I switched her canned food to the Venison Canine Caviar and noticed a difference within days (less than a week). The flaky skin is gone and her rolling to deal with the itching is also gone. The product gets solid with refrigeration, but that works well as I can easily add it to her canned food without it making clumps with the dry kibble. Very happy with the Canine Caviar product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love opening one can for both the cats AND the dogs! Changed the dogs to this brand of both dry and wet food a few months ago for the health benefits, switched the cats over last month. The cats LOVE the venison flavor over the other flavors of canned. It is so nice to open one can to share among all the animals! The cats will also eat the duck but are not as keen on the turkey flavor.
